Venus Williams has found love — not on the tennis court, but with her boyfriend, Andrea Preti.

The multi-Grand Slam champion was first linked to Preti in July 2024 — and was seen cozying up to him while wearing a diamond ring six months later. As part of one of the most famous sibling duos in sports history alongside her sister Serena, Williams has spent much of her life in the public eye. While she's kept her relationship with Preti out of the spotlight, Williams — who previously dated model Elio Pis in 2012 and Nicholas Hammond in 2017 — opened up to Cosmopolitan in September 2021 about not feeling the societal pressures to settle down and start a family.

“I have a lot of friends who don’t believe me when I say that I like my life and I don’t want to change it for any reason. I’m not desperate and they don’t believe me,” the tennis star said of being single at the time. “They say things like, ‘You’re going to miss your window.’ I’m like, ‘Please, relax. Preti was born in 1988 in Denmark and spent most of his childhood there before moving to Italy with his family as a teenager. In May 2024, he shared photos from a trip to Copenhagen, Denmark, on Instagram and wrote that he was back in his "homeland."

"No one can understand how much I missed you Chris," he captioned the post, which included a photo with his brother. "And how much I miss being here."

Preti added, "Best time ever ❤️🙏🏻."

He is an actor and producer

While he spent many years as a model, Preti has since built a career for himself as both an actor and producer. After studying acting at the Susan Batson Academy in New York City, per his IMDb bio, Preti landed roles in television, film and commercials.

He wrote, acted in and directed 2014's One More Day, while also appearing in the Italian television series A Professor. More recently, he starred in 2023's Temptation and was a contestant on the Italian reality show La Talpa.

They were first linked in July 2024

Williams and Preti were first linked in July 2024, when they were spotted boating together in Nerano, Italy, along the Amalfi Coast.

Since then, the pair have remained mostly private about their relationship, though they were seen together again in January 2025. That same month, Williams posted a selfie of her and Preti vacationing in the Bahamas on her Instagram Stories, calling her boyfriend "the best company."

She and Preti sparked engagement rumors in February 2025

In February 2025, Williams was spotted cozying up to Preti outside a tennis training session in Rome, sporting a sparkling diamond ring on her left hand.

Photos and videos showed that the tennis star kept the ring — which appeared to feature a square-cut diamond in the middle of a pavé-set — on during practice, while Preti watched on in the stands. Other footage showed the pair hugging and kissing outside of the session.

Williams previously spoke about being “stuck” in single life

In October 2022, Williams opened up to Glamour UK about both embracing — and getting too comfortable — in her life as a single woman.

"I think it’s really easy to get stuck in a single life and sometimes – at least for me – harder to get out of a single life," she said, explaining that she's been single "for a long time."

The professional tennis player said that it was something she was actively "working on," explaining that she's never been one to run into a relationship.

"This is how I work and function, and I’m OK with it," Williams said. "When life changes, you’ve got to know when to change. You can’t hold on to either a relationship or the singleness. You have to be able to move at the time – and even if you don’t want to or aren’t ready, you’ve just got to go with it.”
