'Vanderpump Rules' Star Defends Controversial Choice to Alter Toddler's Physical Appearance in New Photos

Lala Kent isn't backing down from her decision to photoshop her toddler's appearance in photos.

Fans appear to have recently clocked that the Vanderpump Rules alum had taken to whitening her 3-year-old daughter Ocean's teeth in photos, as the reality star clapped back at critics in an Instagram Story, which was republished by Page Six, earlier this week.

Over a photo of the toddler, in which the girl's two front teeth appeared to be slightly discolored, she insisted that she's not "usually the type" to read or respond to her comment section, but "could not let this comment slide."

While she didn't specify what the comment that triggered her need to respond was, she did explain, "...we are from Utah honey… We are teeth people!"

As it turns out, the toddler is wild at heart and "enjoys not listening." As a result, she recently "fell off her bike face first," causing "trauma to the root of her two front teeth," which presumably accounts for the grayish appearance. While the root isn't dead, Kent takes the toddler to the dentist to check in on it every three to six months, and the family expects they will eventually either require a root canal or to be pulled altogether.

While “Ocean thinks they are ‘cool,’” Kent admitted that she's "the mom who usually edits this," insisting anyone who has a problem with it to "Go ahead and judge."

Kent isn't the first celebrity to come under fire for altering the appearance of her children in photos. Kate Middleton, of course, was caught Photoshopping her Mother's Day photo earlier this year, sparking backlash.
