Valerie Bertinelli and her boyfriend, Mike Goodnough, appeared together on the red carpet for the first time as a couple this week.

The celebrity chef posed for photos with her writer boyfriend upon their arrival at the 51st Daytime Emmy Awards, which was held on Friday, June 7 at the Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles, Calif.

The couple embraced a monochrome look as they stood for photos, with Bertinelli, 64, wearing a long-sleeved white top and matching pants while Goodnough wore an all-black suit over a black shirt and matching tie.

The former Food Network star made her relationship Instagram official in April when she posted a selfie with Goodnough that she paired with lyrics from Taylor Swift’s “So High School,” one of the new tracks featured on the pop star’s 11th studio album The Tortured Poets Department. Less than two months later, the Hot in Cleveland star gushed over her new boyfriend while speaking with Entertainment Tonight at the Daytime Emmys.

"He’s brilliant, he’s smart, he’s funny, he’s talented—an amazing writer,” she told the publication. “He’s kind, he’s thoughtful, he’s patient with me, god knows I need a lot of patience, and he’s just—I mean, look at him.”

For his part, Goodnough described Bertinelli as being “all the things her fans know her to be.” He added, “She’s kind, loving, caring, sweet. She has a big heart.”

Bertinelli’s former Food Network show, Valerie’s Home Cooking, was nominated for a Daytime Emmy at the Friday awards show in the Best Culinary Series category. Bertinelli was also personally nominated in the Best Culinary Host category for her role on the show, which was canceled last year after 14 seasons.

Bertinelli told ET that she was “so excited” her cooking show was nominated, even though she “would have liked to have stayed” at the Food Network.

“I was really happy that it was nominated because I just adore the people that I work with,” she said. “And it was our last season, so it was nice to get that recognition.”
