Usain Bolt is known as one of the fastest men alive, but his greatest achievement is being a dad to his three kids: Olympia, Thunder and Saint.

With eight Olympic gold medals, 11 World Championship titles and multiple world records, Bolt’s athletic legacy is unmatched. However, after the sprinting icon retired in 2017, he shifted his focus and began a family with his longtime girlfriend Kasi Bennett.

The couple welcomed their daughter Olympia in 2020, followed by their twin sons Thunder and Saint in 2021. While Bolt admitted that fatherhood has its challenges, he still focuses on soaking in the joys of raising three young children.

“It's a lot more time-consuming, but I enjoy it,” he told PEOPLE in July 2021. “I'm looking forward to them just growing up and just having fun.”

While his daughter and sons are already showing signs of athletic potential — the proud dad revealed they're growing tall — Bolt emphasizes the importance of encouraging their individual paths rather than steering them toward sports.

"For me, anything they want to do, I'm just going to support them,” he said. “That's always a key thing: Just support your child in whatever they want to do. So if they don't want to run, if they don't want to do sports, I'm okay with it.”

Here's everything to know about Usain Bolt's kids: Olympia, Thunder and Saint.

Bolt and Bennett welcomed their daughter, Olympia Lightning Bolt, on May 17, 2020.

At the time, Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness announced the birth. “Congratulations to our sprint legend Usain Bolt (@usainbolt) and Kasi Bennett on the arrival of their baby girl!” he wrote on X.

Less than two months later, Bolt introduced his daughter to the world in an Instagram post celebrating Bennett's birthday.

“I want to wish my gf a happy birthday,” he wrote. “Now we have started a new chapter together with our daughter Olympia Lightning Bolt I look forward to what the future will bring for us but be reassured that I will be the ROCK for this family.”

The name is a fitting tribute to her father's running legacy and Bolt credits Bennett with coming up with the unique moniker.

“When she got pregnant, we decided that if it was a boy, I would name him. If it was a girl, she would name her,” he explained in a July 2020 interview with Variety. “She did a lot of research and came up with that name, so I was like, it’s pretty nice. I mean, it’s a Greek name, so I liked it.”

It didn’t take long for the newborn to become the apple of her father’s eye. In August 2020, Bolt shared a touching Instagram video where he held Olympia in his arms, engaging in a playful “conversation” with her.

In addition to wearing matching outfits on several occasions, Bolt and Olympia appear to be attached at the hip, including when it comes to antics. In one clip, Bennett jokingly chides the gold medalist for allowing their daughter to have a lollipop, while Bolt feigns innocence and claims she got it herself.

When they aren't relaxing together, Bolt is teaching his “number one girl” how to swim and the mechanics of sprinting. But he's on board with whatever Olympia wants to pursue, even if it’s not track and field related.

“I'm not gonna force her to do anything. Anything she wants to do would be fine with me,” Bolt told Variety.

Still he does lament how quickly his little girl — who is now in school — is growing up.

“Beginning to feel like Time has Usain Bolt speed or it’s my Olympia growing up too Usainly Fast,” he captioned a picture of Olympia on Instagram in November 2022.

The couple kept their second pregnancy under wraps, making Thunder and Saint's debuts a surprise. The Olympic champion announced the news on Father's Day 2021 with a photo of the newly formed family of five, featuring the kids' names in the caption.

The following month, Bolt reflected on the twins' births and described how thrilling the experience was.

“None of us have twins in our family, so it was crazy, but it's been good, it has been exciting, a new journey,” he shared during an Instagram Live for Olympics Day.

According to the father of three, his “future kings” have different personalities.

Bolt can be heard asking Saint to “be cool” as he tried to play with his brother in an August 2022 Instagram video. Meanwhile, Thunder has also proven to be as quick as his father when it comes to polishing off his meals.

Still, the boys also have the reputed twin bond. They often wear matching outfits, although they can usually be distinguished by their hairstyles — one has cornrows, and the other has a flat cut.

Having the twins has also brought a sense of ease compared to when Bolt and Bennett welcomed their first child, Olympia.

“Sleeping is much better. I was so nervous [with first child Olympia],” he added in the Instagram Live. “With the boys, I've definitely got help, from the grandparents and so forth.”

Bolt also noted how Olympia has stepped into her new role as a big sister with care and affection.

“[Olympia’s] very independent, she does her own thing,” he revealed. “She kisses them every day. She looks and checks and then leaves.”

Though she's one year older than them, the three siblings are close. They share meals and have joined forces to decorate the Christmas tree and play in their parents’ closets.
