Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black Renewed for Season 2 at Netflix

Kimmie is officially diving deeper into the Bellarie family’s twisted world. Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black has been renewed for Season 2 at Netflix, TVLine has learned.

“We left fans on the edge of their seats at the end of Season 1, and we’re thrilled to continue Kimmie’s journey as she steps into her power as the newest member of the Bellarie family,” Perry says in a statement. “Kimmie exemplifies the spirit of never underestimating the underdog, and I can’t wait for fans to continue to see her story unfold. If you thought Season 1 was a wild ride, you’re not ready for Season 2.”

Perry’s Netflix drama tells the story of a stripper named Kimmie (Taylor Polidore Williams), who constantly finds herself involved in the goings-on of the powerful Bellarie family. Season 1 ended with Kimmie agreeing to marry family patriarch Horace Bellarie (Ricco Ross) in order to prevent his greedy children from taking his money and company, effectively making her their stepmom and their new boss.

“I know what’s going to happen, so I’m trying hard not to say anything,” Williams recently told TVLine. “But yes, it’s definitely just the beginning of what [Kimmie is] about to get into.”

Beauty in Black’s ensemble cast also includes Crystle Stewart, Amber Reign Smith, Debbi Morgan, Richard Lawson, Steven G. Norfleet, Julian Horton, Terrell Carter, Shannon Wallace, Bryan Tanaka, Joy Rovaris, Xavier Smalls, Charles Malik Whitfield, Tamera “Tee” Kissen, Ursula O. Robinson, Ashley Versher, George Middlebrook and Ts Madison.

Just as Season 1 was divided into Parts 1 and 2, Netflix has confirmed that Season 2 will consist of Parts 3 and 4. A premiere date is not yet known.
