Why is it a good deal? 💰

Our price trackers tell us that this Amazon deal brings the price down to as low as it's ever been, so if you're considering it, you'll want to "scoop" it up while it's $30 off. Plus, making ice cream at home is usually more affordable than buying it at the store or ice cream parlor, and this attachment is less than half the price of the popular Ninja Creami.

Why do I need this? 🤔

Unless you have an abundance of unused storage space in your kitchen (I envy you), chances are you'd rather not have a bulky ice cream maker on your counter. What makes the KitchenAid Ice Cream Maker Attachment so clever is the fact that its main component is a 2-quart bowl and that it simply turns your KitchenAid stand mixer into yet another appliance.

Of course, you'll need a KitchenAid stand mixer in order to use it, and it's compatible with all tilt-head models aside from minis, as well as most of the brand's bowl-lift mixers. (Be sure to check out the Amazon product page for specifics.) In addition to the bowl, this kit comes with a dasher — the part that actually mixes and churns the ice cream — as well as everything needed for quick assembly.

Using it is a piece of cake (ice cream cake, to be exact). The manufacturer recommends freezing the bowl for at least 24 hours before starting your homemade dessert journey. Once it's nice and cold, you'll be able to add all of your ingredients — don't forget the mix-ins — and let the machine do its thing. Within about 30 minutes, you'll have a custom creation that just might have you swearing off of the Good Humor truck for, well, good. Oh, and if you or someone in your family has dietary restrictions, this gizmo makes it super easy to accommodate them.

The bowl isn't dishwasher-safe, but once it's room temperature, some warm water and soap should do the trick in a jiffy. It's a small price to pay for 24/7 access to homemade ice cream!

What reviewers say 💬

I scream, you scream and 1,300-plus Amazon customers scream for this summer kitchen essential.

Pros 👍

"Yummy!" exclaimed one happy user. "I can now make high-end ice cream in any flavor I choose. Better ingredients and the right recipe makes for a better experience compared to the store-bought brand. The cool part is how easy the process is from beginning to end. ... The end result is like tasty soft serve that can be eaten at this point if preferred. For a more traditional ice cream texture- and taste, freeze the end result from the churn in a quart-sized ice cream container for several hours."

"I froze it for three days, and it got so cold I was able to make two batches in one sitting (and probably could have made more)," shared another. "Fantastic ice cream maker, 10/10! Easiest thing to clean in the entire world, just run it under some hot water and the ice cream residue is gone in a second!"

"This is my fourth!" gushed a very loyal customer. "This ice cream attachment is so wonderful that I buy them for gifts! I have been using my personal one for over a decade and always get 'better than Hagen Daz' comments. It freezes fast enough that the ice crystals are very small and keep the ice cream smooth."

Cons 👎

"It takes up space in the freezer," noted an otherwise satisfied shopper, "but it's only for a day or two until cold enough to use. ... Creates great homemade ice cream. Tried sugar and keto versions (turns out allulose creates the best keto version, [it] stays soft in the freezer)."

"The only thing that could make me happier with the bowl would be a snap-on lid," wrote a final fan. "Add that, and I would give it 100% satisfaction." They added, "It really makes the process so easy!"

Don't wait for this deal to melt away...

Don't have a KitchenAid stand mixer? This classic model is compatible with the ice cream maker attachment and happens to be on sale:

I used to bake for a living, and my trusty KitchenAid stand mixer is my go-to appliance. Cake batters, cookie doughs, breads, frostings, meringues — you name it, I've probably made it using this mighty machine. Unlike flimsier mixers, this one was built to last (there's a reason KitchenAids are often passed down from one generation to the next). At 4.5 quarts, it can hold enough dough to make up to eight dozen cookies at a time, though it won't take up much room in your kitchen. Oh, and you'll get a beater, dough hook and whisk attachments for making practically any baked good under the sun.
