Treat your sweet tooth with this rich chocolate vegan mousse

If you’re craving something sweet, why not make dessert at home? In this episode of ITK: Eats, we show you a quick and easy recipe for chocolate vegan mousse. This dish is rich and decadent yet only needs four ingredients to make. It’s simple to follow, so you can make it for yourself or wow guests at your next dinner party.


For the chocolate mousse:

  • 1 can full-fat coconut milk

  • ¼ cup cocoa powder

  • 3 to 4 tablespoons powdered sugar

  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

For the cream topping:

  • 1 can full-fat coconut milk

  • 1 to 2 tablespoons powdered sugar

  • ¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract


1. To make the chocolate vegan mousse: Start by straining the coconut milk into a bowl to remove any thicker bits. Then, add the strained coconut milk to the bowl of a stand mixer along with the cocoa powder, powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Mix until combined, scraping the sides of the bowl as needed.

2. To make the cream topping: In a separate bowl, combine the coconut milk, powdered sugar and vanilla using a stand mixer or hand mixer. Mix until it thickens.

3. Serve the chocolate vegan mousse in individual dishes with a generous scoop of cream on top. Finish with sifted cocoa powder.
