Travis Kelce's Thoughts on Donald Trump's Super Bowl Plans Divide Fans
Travis Kelce is sharing his honest opinion about taking on the Eagles during Super Bowl LIX this Sunday, Feb. 9, in New Orleans with Donald Trump in attendance—but his positive outlook has left fans divided.
In a close-up video from the Chiefs' latest press conference uploaded to X by New York Post Sports, Kelce gave a very diplomatic answer when asked how he felt about playing in front of Trump after reports suggested that he might be attending the big game.
"It's a great honor," Kelce said, "no matter who the president is."
"I'm excited because it's the biggest game of my life, you know? Having the president there, you know, it's the best country in the world so it will be pretty cool," he concluded.

Several commenters were quick to turn on the team, with one replying, "Yuck , let’s go eagles," on another thread about the news, while someone else quipped, "I hope they lose."
"What??????" another seemed shocked by Kelce's answer.
"I'm sure Travis is [excited because] he is [the] POTUS...not [because] he supports him," another fan defended him, suggesting he simply "respects the office."
The division is reminiscent of the backlash Jelly Roll faced after he met the sitting president at Madison Square Garden ahead of the inauguration, when he gave a similar explanation for his feelings.
"Dude, there’s not a chance in hell that I’m not going to meet the president-elect. I don’t care," the country crooner explained at the time, adding that if he "got a call to meet Joe Biden," he would have dropped everything, too.
"That’s the active president. I don’t care about what he thinks or I think about policies," he concluded.
Some appreciated that Jelly Roll was "keeping it real—respecting the office, not the politics," while many others felt he was "loud and wrong."
