Travis Kelce's Friends Honor His Brother Jason Amid Retirement News

After a disappointing loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday, Jan. 15, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce allegedly announced to his teammates that he was officially retiring from the National Football League.

The NFL shared the news on social media, with fans reacting to the announcement with love and support for Jason. Now, more people are cheering on the 36-year-old, including his younger brother Travis Kelce's best friend Aric Jones and personal chef Kumar Ferguson.

Jones shared a post on his Instagram Stories from the NFL official Instagram depicting Jason leaving his final game, adding a tiger emoji over it. Ferguson followed suit, sharing the news alongside a tiger emoji on his own page.

The tiger is in reference to Jason and Travis' high school mascot, with the brothers, Jones and Ferguson all attending Cleveland Heights High School.

Neither Jason nor Travis has shared any comments about the retirement news yet, but many expect them to discuss the major career choice on the upcoming episode of their podcast, New Heights, expected to drop on Wednesday morning.

Ahead of the game on Monday, Jason shortly commented on the possibility of retirement, telling NBC Sports Philadelphia that he was focused on the game that day over anything else.

"No matter how many more years I play, or any of us play, this team right now only has one [guaranteed] game left and that's what we're really focused on," he eloquently put it.

Later, as Jason finished up what was likely his final game, the New Heights podcast's account on X retweeted an NFL clip of an emotional moment on the field for the Philadelphia Eagles player and added, "💚🦅," seemingly in reference to the news.

While there were plenty of comments celebrating the football star, many shared their wishes that his career could've ended on a better note.

"Wish I could give him a hug. I've said it once and I'll say it again: Jason deserved better. 😞💚🤍," said one fan sad about the situation, while another agreed, writing, "Deserved a better career ending, they let you down kelce."

Despite the way the season ended, others continue to praise Jason for his actions both on and off the field as they wonder what he might do next.
