Travelers: We Want To Know About The Most Disappointing City You've Ever Visited Vs. Underrated Destinations People Are Missing Out On
Who doesn't love a vacation? There's nothing like disconnecting for a few days and exploring a new destination. Unless, of course, it turns out that said destination is highly overrated...
Sometimes, an iconic city or location doesn't live up to the hype surrounding it. Maybe it's too busy, commercial, or even too dangerous, but something about it disappoints you. However, with an open mind and a little bit of adventure, perhaps you've discovered your new favorite spot is just off the beaten path:
Maybe you visited France and felt that Paris didn't live up to the hype, so you decided to check out Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Rouen in Normandy or sample wine in Sancerre?
Maybe you were taking a cross-country road trip of the United States and weren't impressed by major cities such as NYC or LA, so you decided to check out national parks or small towns across the country?
Maybe you visited the UAE and thought Dubai was too commercialized, so you decided to visit Oman for a more authentic experience?
Maybe you visited South Korea, and Seoul wasn't your speed, so you decided to get a better glimpse of the local culture and scenery in Busan or Sokcho?
Or perhaps you vacationed in Italy and, although you visited the tourist destinations, such as Rome or Milan, you enjoyed exploring Piazza della Cisterna in San Gimignano or the Blue Grotto in Capri more?
No matter where you have traveled, we want to hear all about it! Which is why I'm asking: What was the most overrated city you've ever visited, and which underrated destinations would you recommend others visit instead and why? Tell us in the comments!
