If you're a Trader Joe’s fan you know that the bakery is one of its greatest assets. On our end, we’ve been known to pile carts high with Brown Sugar Cardamom Buns and Pumpkin Caramel Kringles.

This holiday season, we’re more than merry about the grocery's return of a fan-favorite bakery item—one we’ve been patiently waiting to make a comeback.

Trader Joe’s Brings Back Gingerbread Sandwich Cookies

Trader Joe’s beloved Gingerbread Sandwich Cookies have returned to the bakery aisle just in time for Christmas. We can’t imagine not enjoying these sweet treats with a hot beverage by the tree, and thankfully, now we don't have to give up that moment.

The Instagram user @trader_joes_treasure_hunt recently spotted the gingerbread cookies and said they're a 10/10 thanks to the “generous layer of sweet cream cheese filling and crunchy sugar tops.” Sounds like perfection to us, too.

A newbie to the sandwich cookies quickly reacted to the news, saying they were “something I didn’t know I needed." But those who've previously tried them know exactly what they're in for. A TJ's shopper mentioned that “they go down like water,” and another added that they "eat a box of these a week” as part of a holiday tradition.

One new fan posted about the gingerbread cookies on a Reddit thread, declaring they have just the right level of ginger and a soft, moist texture, with the bonus of a little crunch from the sparkling sugar on top. "I smashed these last year," said a reader responding to the thread. "Looks like I need to make a stop soon."

Head to Trader Joe's to score a whopping 1-pound box of the Gingerbread Sandwich Cookies for $5.99 before they're gone. If we know anything about this grocery store, it's that popular items sell out quickly, so don't let the gingerbread escape your grip.
