These Are the Top 100 Places to Eat in 2025, According to Yelp

With its user-generated reviews, restaurant photos, and abundant business info, Yelp aims to be the platform where you discover great new places to eat, no matter what you’re craving. Sometimes Yelp assists by tabulating the most positively reviewed restaurants in a particular culinary category, like Chinese-American or vegan food. Other times, it bundles the ideal restaurants for a particular occasion, like date night. But this month, it’s releasing an even bolder, more declarative compilation: Yelp’s list of the Top 100 Places to Eat in the US 2025, period.

Since the “top 100” spots don’t have to adhere to any particular cuisine type, an overall vibe, or other parameters, the list encompasses a wide range of eateries, and everyone’s bound to find at least a few that sound intriguing, no matter how picky or demanding they might be. To determine the 100 finalists, Yelp considered both star rating and review volume (as is typical with such lists), but also looked at the performance of the restaurant relative to the surrounding dining scene. It’s always impressive when a restaurant can draw a crowd — but all the more so when the restaurant itself is the destination of a particular area.

Coming in at number one is a restaurant that illustrates the variety of the overall list: Holbox, a Latin American restaurant in a Los Angeles food hall selling ceviches, fish tacos, shellfish, and other fresh seafood fare. Not only does it have more than 1,000 five-star reviews (accounting for more than 80% of all reviews), but it also attracts diners from far-flung suburbs seeking Michelin-starred cuisine. You won’t read too many complaints about the hour-plus wait when the food is this good.

As always, California dominates the list, with four of the top 10 restaurants, and a whopping 37 out of the total 100, located throughout the Golden State. The rest of the top spots are a richly diverse assemblage of everything from Middle Eastern food in Arizona to fusion gyros in Oregon to an arepas truck in Pennsylvania to Filipino fare in Orlando. Different though they may be, the common elements across these many restaurants include globally inspired flavors, a commitment to sustainability, and a come-as-you-are atmosphere that makes guests feel welcome.

Some states are only represented by a single restaurant in the entire list. The lone Oklahoma eatery in the collection, Doctor Kustom, is a casual Brazilian spot whose menu changes every day. Meanwhile, Japanese-inspired cocktail bar Chez Kenzo is Hawaii’s only listing. If your favorite restaurant (or your entire state!) isn’t represented in this year’s rundown, Yelp points out that “we only know how good a spot is if you take the time to review it.”

Users of the Yelp mobile app can download the Top 100 Places to Eat and consult it when traveling (or just so they can discover great spots within their own city). With such a wide-ranging collection, it’s very possible that your new favorite restaurant is hiding out in this list somewhere.
