Cue Heavy D & The Boyz: Tommy Davidson reunited with his In Living Color costar Damon Wayans in the latest episode of Poppa's House.

On Monday's episode of the CBS sitcom starring Wayans and his son, Damon Wayans Jr., Davidson cameoed as Jarnold, an old acquaintance of Wayans' Poppa from a previous radio job. Poppa reconnected with Jarnold after he snagged tickets for a baseball game but didn't have a friend to invite. The duo, though polar opposites, attempted to strike up a real friendship.

Speaking with TV Insider, Davidson called the reunion “the best thing I've done in 15 years when it comes to TV." He said, "It can be a challenge walking onto a set, and nobody knows you, and they don’t know what you’re capable of, and you’re reading the script and got better things to bring to it. But they don’t care. It wasn’t that way with them. They know what I can do. They give you the right sidewalk to walk on, no cracks.”

To watch Wayans Jr., whom he watched grow up, run a set with his father was also an emotional experience, said Davidson. "Damon Jr. has grown into a consummate professional,” said Davidson. “He is a lot further than I was at that age about knowing about writing and production and stuff like that."

"It’s emotional because my oldest son is the same age as Damon, and they grew up with them every inch of the way," added Davidson. "It almost brings tears to my eyes because as bad as life can get, it doesn’t get any better than that. To see that our children have the opportunity to do what we did is so uniquely special because that does not happen in the majority of this world."

Davidson and Wayans appeared on In Living Color, the revered 1990 sketch comedy series that ran for five seasons and also starred the likes of Jim Carrey and David Alan Grier. Created by Wayans and brother Keenen Ivory Wayans, it featured several Wayans family members — Kim! Marlon! Shawn! — in its cast. (Jennifer Lopez was also a Fly Girl.)

The strong familial bonds have since extended to Poppa's House, which also features a number of Wayans family members working behind the scenes. It centers on Wayans' Poppa, a divorced radio host who finds his point of view challenged when the station hires a new female co-host. Wayans Jr. aptly plays his adult son, a dreamer trying to pursue his passions while being a responsible father and husband.

Davidson told TV Insider he loved "being with family and being with people that know me." He also teased that there's "always" a chance Jarnold could return in future episodes.
