This adorably festive $17 host gift will give 'em something to 'taco'-bout

A bottle of wine is nice, but once you feast your eyes on these glittery food-shaped ornaments, you'll never attend a holiday party without one in hand.

'Tis the season for holiday parties, and if your December schedule is packed with festive gatherings, you'll need some host gifts. The most obvious is arguably a bottle of wine — which is nice! But, if we're being honest, it's not all that memorable and doesn't last very long. A fun ornament, on the other hand, is something they'll be able to use every year, and they'll think of your sweet self every time they hang it on the tree. There's no shortage of quirky holiday accessories out there, but if we had to choose one, we'd pick this Old World Christmas Taco Ornament. After all, who doesn’t love tacos? Now add some sparkle to the mix, and you’ve got a fiesta they won’t forget. That's a recipe for an invite back next year! (Psst: Keep scrolling for even more food-shaped finds.)

Look at that detail! We've got meat, lettuce, tomato, cheese and a healthy sprinkling of gold for good measure.

Made of glass, this taco ornament is hand-painted and glittered using time-tested methods that date back to the 1800s. While it's undeniably funny — any recipient will get a kick out of it — it's also beautiful and will add a bit of shimmer to the tree. Plus, it's a conversation starter that'll likely have other guests asking where they can get one themselves.

Going to a white elephant gift exchange? Bring this, and we'll bet it'll be among the most stolen items there. It would also make a cute stocking stuffer that your recipient can look forward to using next year.

The taco ornament hanging on a Christmas tree
Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree, how tasty are your branches... (Amazon)

Amazon customers say this twinkly tortilla is equal parts amusing and attractive.

"This taco ornament is such a fun addition to our holiday decorations!" exclaimed one satisfied shopper. "It’s bright, colorful and definitely a conversation starter on the tree. The detailing is great, with toppings like lettuce and cheese adding to the charm. It’s lightweight, so it hangs nicely without weighing down the branches."

"Not delicate like I expected," shared another. "Has a solid feel and was bigger than I imagined ... [I] bought [it] as a stocking stuffer for my daughter who loves tacos; it looks great, feels pretty solid — I’m sure she will love it."

"Old World never disappoints," wrote a third. "I have this tradition of buying a 'special' ornament to represent each person in the house as part of their Christmas gift every year. This is my go-to vendor for that ornament. It's always a great experience opening the box, because the item is often more striking in person."

While most reviewers had nothing but positive things to say, a few did comment on the way the ornament arrived.

"Cute taco — packaging nonexistent," noted one. "I am stunned it arrived in one piece. ... No box. No bubble wrap. No protective insulation of any kind. ... Arriving in one piece is either a testament to how sturdy this thin glass is, or pure dumb luck."

"It could have been packaged better, but the ornament was fine!" said a final fan. "Very vivid colors and nicely made!" (Note: These last two reviews were written in 2022 and 2021 respectively, so packaging could differ now. At any rate, the ornament survived in both cases!)

Prefer a less-loaded taco? Just flip it around!
