'Wish Steve was here': Terri Irwin responds to Bindi's pregnancy
Terri Irwin has responded to daughter Bindi’s pregnancy with an emotional post to Twitter.
The 56-year-old revealed her excitement at the wonderful news but said she wished her late husband, Steve Irwin, was there to share the special time with them.
“This is the best day ever! I am over the moon to announce that @BindiIrwin and @chandlerpowell9 are going to have a baby,” Terri wrote on Twitter.
“Words cannot express the love that is filling my heart. While I wish that Steve was here to share this beautiful moment, I know that he would be so proud.”
Bindi’s younger brother, Robert Irwin, also took to his Twitter to share the exciting news.
“The best news ever! I am so happy for Bindi & Chandler to be welcoming a new member of the family. I can’t believe I’m going to be an uncle! Incredibly excited for this brilliant new chapter and all the fun adventures ahead with a new little Wildlife Warrior,” he wrote.
Celebrities from all over Australia have rushed to congratulate Bindi and Chandler, with The Project host Lisa Wilkinson saying she had ‘tears in her eyes’ when she found out the news.

“What a lucky little one. All my love always. And Terri is going to be the Best grandma,” she wrote.
Radio host Amanda Keller commented: “Such exciting news. Congrats to you both. So wonderful x.”

Last night, the 22-year-old took to her Instagram account to make the exciting announcement to her 3.6 million fans, just over four months since the couple married in an intimate ceremony to beat coronavirus restrictions.
Holding up a tiny baby-sized khaki Australia Zookeeper outfit, the Queenslander posed alongside Chandler for an adorable photo.
“Baby Wildlife Warrior due 2021,” she started the post.
“Chandler and I are proud to announce that we’re expecting! It’s an honour to share this special moment in our lives with you.”
The Australia Zookeeper continued: “Though I’m still in my first trimester, we really want you to be part of our journey from the beginning of this new life chapter.
“We couldn’t wait to share the news as this beautiful little being has become the most important part of our lives. Your support means the world to us. Please let me know your best advice and send good vibes & prayers to our little sweetheart. Love & light.”
