Teen marries 71-year-old soulmate after whirlwind romance

They say love has no limits, and that couldn’t be more true for this grandmother who married a teenager more than 50 years her junior.

Almeda, from the US, was 71 when she met 17-year-old Gary at her son’s funeral.

Two weeks later, the pair were married, and since then, she says her life has been a ‘whirlwind’.

Despite previously being married for 43-years to another man, Almeda says her first relationship lacked romance and believes her new love, Gary is her true ‘soulmate’.

“I wasn’t looking for a young man, but Gary just came along,” said Almeda said in one of their Youtube videos. “I just knew straight away that he was the one.”

“We are always complimenting and kissing. We’re enjoying our relationship,” she added.

And Gary is just as smitten, saying marrying Almeda was, “beyond my wildest dreams.”

“She really is my dream woman and the physical side of our relationship couldn’t be better.”

He claims his attraction to older women began at the young age of eight when he developed a crush on his teacher and before meeting Almeda, he also dated a 77-year-old but was “looking for a way out.”

Speaking of the first time they met, Almeda says, “I’d noticed this young man with a lovely smile during the service… It was like a bright light through the grief.”

“Then, as I was walking to the door at the end, he came over and passed on his condolences. We didn’t have much time, but it was enough.”

Not long after, the pair met again at a lunch hosted by his aunt and the spark between them strengthened.

“I just came out with it and said to him, ‘Look, I’m 71 and you’re 17. Am I too old for you?” He squeezed my hand, grinned, and replied: ‘Age is just a number’,” Almeda recalls, saying that was the night they shared their first kiss.

Two weeks after their first date, Gary proposed and claims their families have been mostly supportive of their marriage, including his 48-year-old mother and 71-year-old grandmother.

Now living together, the pair keeps their relationship exciting by creating numerous videos for their Youtube channel.

And as for their age difference they say, “Age never bothers us, we never really think about it.”

Gary has since tattooed Alemeda’s name onto his chest and constantly praises his wife on their shared Instagram account.

Meanwhile, the ‘young at heart’ Almeda is giving out relationship advice in her new talk show called, Girl’s Talk.
