Ted Lasso fans go wild over blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment in Shrinking season two trailer
Ted Lasso fans have been going wild over a surprising moment in the Shrinking season two trailer.
Ted Lasso fans have been left surprised over a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment in the Shrinking season two trailer. Shrinking is an Apple TV+ show that is co-created and co-written by Brett Goldstein, who Ted Lasso viewers know better as the one and only Roy Kent, and it's finally time that the actor and writer appear in the show.
In a new trailer for the second season of Shrinking, fans were excited to see Brett, however, the star looked very different from his Roy Kent days. It seems his character in Shrinking doesn't have the beard that we all know and love, leaving fans to freak out on social media.
"ROY KENT WITH NO BEARD!!!!" one YouTube user wrote, while another added, "Thank god, I thought I was just imagining him there."
"I don’t like it 😭😭😭," a third fan added.
"I hope it’s not just a split second cameo," someone else said.
"He’s here! He’s there! He’s every-f**king-where! Roy Kent!" another Ted Lasso fan said, referencing the chant fans would use for Roy in the show.
"Roy Kent truly is everywhere!" one user added.

"Excited about this!! But also beardless Brett might look even more CGI than bearded Brett lmao. Love you king but I call it how I see it," someone else joked (and honestly, I agree).
"They snuck in a Brett Goldstein cameo thinking we wouldn't notice him without his beard," another said.

Who will Brett Goldstein play in Shrinking season two?
It's currently unknown what Brett's character will be in Shrinking, but what we do know is that he will make an impact on the story in a way that viewers won't expect.
"I can tell you that it's not a cameo and that people will be really surprised by it," co-creator Bill Lawrence told Entertainment Weekly. "It's not something that people will necessarily expect or even recognise him in right away."
"It is incredibly different. There is almost no crossover except the eyebrows. He might look vaguely similar, but these are very, very, very different characters," Brett joked of his Shrinking character in comparison to Roy Kent.

Brett, who was also a writer on Ted Lasso, revealed that Jason Segel, who also stars in and co-created Shrinking, believed he should be the character.
"With Roy Kent, I had the strong feeling I should be playing it," he said. "And with this one, Jason had the strong feeling I should be playing it. He was like, 'Why isn't Brett doing this? Brett's perfect for this.’ And we were like, 'Oh.' And I thought, ‘If Jason Segel says to do something, you should do it.'"
