Taylor Swift fans flock to site to grab special-edition 'Lover' vinyls
The first time Taylor Swift fans have heard from the superstar in the new year is through a special collection vinyl merch drop.
At 9:30 a.m. CT on Tuesday, Swift's marketing team, Taylor Nation, put it's 3.3 million followers on alert when they sent out a tweet with one emoji: "💘." The heart with an arrow through it portended a $39.99 vinyl drop ($57 after tax and shipping).
Ninety minutes later the account announced: "Attention everyone who leaves the Christmas lights up till January! Lover (Live From Paris) special edition heart-shaped is here for 72 hours or while supplies last! Get one for you or your lover at http://store.taylorswift.com."
In September 2019, Swift held an intimate one-hour concert for 2,000 fans in Paris. That summer Swift was supposed to hold four stadium shows in Boston and Los Angeles called "Lover Fest," but the coronavirus pandemic canceled the musical event.
The two new heart-shaped records are the third version of the "Lover" concert to be released on vinyl. She released the first through Republic Records on May 19, 2020. And then she reissued a limited-edition vinyl on her website store exclusively on Feb. 14, 2023. The vinyls are hot ticket items with some eBay listings pricing north of $1100.
In May 2020, Swift also released a 42-minute special on Disney+.

"Cornelia Street"
"The Man"
"Daylight"

On Tuesday, some fans reported waiting 11 minutes after placing the vinyl in their virtual cart. According to Swift's website, the albums would be available until Friday at 11:59am ET or while supplies last with a limit of four albums per customer.
The "Lover (Live From Paris)" vinyls sold out by 12 p.m. CT.
