Taco Bell's New Concept Shop Is Here — and It Has Nothing to Do With Tacos
We're eyeing the Cinnavanilla Coffee Churro Chiller.
Taco Bell is ready to serve you something new.
On December 9, the fast-food giant held an opening in Chula Vista, California, for its all-new beverage-forward concept shop, Live Más Cafe.
Developed in partnership with Diversified Restaurant Group, one of its largest franchisees, the cafe's menu includes chillers (including specials like Churro Chiller), aguas frescas, and specialty coffee. According to Today, the menu also includes specials like the Cinnavanilla Coffee Churro Chiller, Cinnabon Caramel Iced or Hot Coffee, Vanilla Crema Iced or Hot Coffee, and Limonada Iced Tea.

“This isn’t just a menu update message — it’s a movement,” SG Ellison, the CEO of Diversified Restaurant Group, added in a statement. “The new beverage platform will empower consumers to live bold and live beyond, and Taco Bell has allowed us to help write the book on this exciting new concept.”
Of course, if you're hungry, you can still snag traditional Taco Bell menu items, but again, the drinks are the main attraction. Taco Bell is far from alone in its focus on drinks. In December, McDonald's opened its first CosMc's location in Chicago, which also features drinks as the focus of its menu.
"CosMc's seamlessly blends brand-new, otherworldly beverage creations with a small lineup of food, including a select few McDonald's favorites – all designed to boost your mood into the stratosphere, if only for a few moments," McDonald's shared in a statement at the time. Since then, it's opened several locations across Texas as well.
Really, this all just makes great business sense, according to experts like R.J. Hottovy, head of analytical research at Placer.ai, who shared with CNN that "Taco Bell, like a lot of quick-service restaurant brands, recognizes the large opportunity in beverages … Beverage chains have been among the fastest-growing chains in the restaurant industry from a visitation standpoint the past two years."
And as Taco Bell's president, Scott Mezvinsky, shared in a statement, the brand is always looking for new ways to "elevate" the experience for customers, and "the Live Más Café is the perfect example of that." He added, "This innovative pilot concept is all about expanding the boundaries of what Taco Bell can be, creating a dynamic space where guests can experience our bold flavors in new and exciting ways. The strength of our partnership with Diversified Restaurant Group has been key in bringing this vision to life. Together, we're not only pushing the envelope on innovation but also reinforcing the power of strong franchise relationships in driving Taco Bell's continued growth and success."
You can try out the drinks for yourself if you're in town every day from 7 a.m. to 3 a.m.
