In the world of late-night snacks and cheap eats, Taco Bell’s long-running Crunchwrap Supreme is a nostalgic favorite. The chain is commemorating that crunchy, cheesy legacy — and its upcoming anniversary — with a brand-new snack.
A new Steak and Queso Crunchwrap Slider just landed on Taco Bell menus today, bringing a punch of spicy goodness to locations nationwide. For under $5, you can receive two mini versions of the classic layered quesadilla-burrito. It coincides with the 20th anniversary of the original Crunchwrap that landed on Taco Bell menus back in 2005, as the chain tells Food & Wine.
“The newest Crunchwrap innovation captures everything you love about the Crunchwrap, now served as a perfectly snackable fun-sized pair with premium ingredients,” a brand representative tells Food & Wine, saying it’s bringing the “perfect bite of crunch, cheese, and flavor.”
This isn’t your typical late-night snack: Each “premium” mini Crunchwrap is filled with marinated pieces of grilled steak accompanied by a creamy chipotle sauce. (Pico de gallo, cheddar cheese, and a mini tostado round out this hexagonal burrito.) A container of Taco Bell’s newest dipping sauce, Green Chile Queso, also comes standard.

The newest Crunchwrap Slider isn’t the brand’s only foray into dippable snacks — in January, Taco Bell introduced the Cheesy Dipping Burrito, a similar saucy invention served with a side of chipotle sauce, nacho cheese, or sour cream. Another decadent treat, the Grilled Cheese Dipping Taco, previously took the spotlight in 2023. Of course, these new innovations don’t hold a candle to the longstanding, dedicated fanbase behind the Crunchwrap Slider’s namesake.
In fact, it might not surprise you that Taco Bell considers the Crunchwrap Supreme among its most successful menu launches of the time. This hexagonal quesadilla, a product of years of research from Taco Bell’s development team, first appeared on menus for a limited time in 2005. As the brand shares, it successfully joined the permanent lineup in January 2006, and the rest is history. Since then, we’ve munched our way through countless limited-edition remixes of the classic meal.
“Over the years, we’ve introduced innovations like the Breakfast and Vegan Crunchwraps, but the heart of the Crunchwrap remains the same: the perfect balance of crunch, cheese and flavor in every bite,” a brand representative explains.
When it comes down to it, though, nothing quite beats the classics.
