Who Is T-Pain's Wife? All About Amber Najm
T-Pain and his wife Amber Najm have been married for over 20 years
T-Pain and his wife, Amber Najm, have been married since 2003, and they're still as strong as ever.
The "Bartender" singer, born Faheem Rasheed Najm, met Amber Michelle Wyatt when they were 18 and 21, respectively, and although he's become a Grammy-winning artist since, it hasn't changed how they feel about each other.
After T-Pain and Amber wed in 2003, the couple welcomed three children: daughter Lyriq and sons Muziq and Kaydnz. T-Pain has said that the consistency of his long-term marriage has made all the difference in his busy career. He told PEOPLE that he relieves his stress from touring by spending time with his wife and kids.
"There's nothing more grounding than being with family to bring you back from all the highs and the thousands of people every night," the rapper said in 2019.
As for the key to their two-decade-long union, T-Pain reveals it comes down to communication. It's important to "see things from all sides of the situation," he explained. "Just try to understand each other rather than try to be the one that's right."
So who is T-Pain's wife? Here's everything to know about Amber Najm and her relationship with the singer.
She was in the military
Amber's family moved around a lot as a result of her father's job in the United States Air Force. While most of her family is originally from Alabama, she grew up in Florida and has called herself a "military brat" due to all of her dad's transfers.
Amber later briefly worked in the military at the same time as her father, and over the years, she has shared memories from that period of her life on social media, especially to commemorate Veterans Day.
"This is me and my daddy at my tech school graduation," she captioned a sweet snap of the father and daughter duo in their uniforms.
A few years earlier, she posted the same image and wrote, "Happy Veterans Day to everyone ... me and my father were in at the same time in the US Air Force."
She married T-Pain in 2003
Amber met the Tallahassee-born rapper, singer-songwriter and record producer in 2002 when she was 21 and he was 18. In a video from one of T-Pain's gaming streams on Twitch, Amber shared that she knew she would marry him from the first moment they met. After Amber's sisters introduced them in a music studio, they tied the knot in 2003.
In 2020, Amber posted a romantic photo from their big day on Instagram, which featured a backdrop of red roses.
A year prior, Amber penned a birthday tribute to her husband. "Happy Birthday to this incredible, wonderful, brilliant and hilarious man that I get to call my hubby," she wrote alongside the couple's first photo together.
T-Pain has also shared his love for his wife on Instagram.
"Every time I come across each one of these in my phone I smile a little," he wrote in 2022 on their 19th wedding anniversary. "I (miraculously) remember what we were doing, where we were, what we talked about, and, most importantly, how much love and happiness I felt in that moment."
She is the "First Lady" of his record label
In 2006, the "Buy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin')" vocalist founded Nappy Boy Entertainment, a record label imprint.
With a roster including the likes of rappers Young Cash and Chayo Nash, as well as professional gamers like Hert Life, Nappy Boy Entertainment has an impressive track record, and Amber is credited for at least some of its success.
Her official title, as seen in her Instagram bio, is "First Lady" of the Nappy Boy Entertainment empire.
They have three children
The Najm family started growing shortly after T-Pain and Amber's wedding, with their first child Lyriq's arrival in 2004. Musiq, the couple's elder son, was born in 2007, followed by their younger son, Kaydnz, in 2009.
Their names are a reference to T-Pain's creative life as an artist: they refer, respectively, to "lyrics," "music" and "cadence."
The dad of three told Distractify in 2022 that he's "always looking for silly ways to make my family laugh." He added that his kids might act like they don't find his "dad jokes" hilarious, but secretly, he knows "they have fun with it."
She is supportive
T-Pain has been open about how his finances have fluctuated throughout his career and how Amber stood by him.
Discussing what he's learned about wealth management on The Breakfast Club radio show in 2019, he revealed that he went from having $40 million in the bank to zero dollars.
"I've been mega-rich, you know, I've been super broke, right in the middle of thinking I was mega-rich, and then got rich again," he said.
T-Pain elaborated on the podcast that he "had to borrow money to get my kids Burger King" at one point, but also told PEOPLE that once he figured out his finances, providing for his family was the best achievement.
“I think that’s always going to be my proudest moment — figuring out how to provide for my family,” he said. “Awards are always great, but in the long run it doesn’t really say who you are. I’m more concerned about my family, my kids and my wife and making sure I can provide.”
She encouraged him when he wanted to quit
After saying he gave up "100 times" at the beginning of his career, T-Pain said he would always reach out to Amber, who would get him back on track.
"She was the one that got me on the path to knowing I determine my life and I determine my day and who I am," he said on The Breakfast Club.
For her part, Amber feels that support right back. "I'm so proud of you," she wrote in a birthday tribute to her husband on Instagram in 2018. "I love that God has blessed me with getting to witness and be apart of your journey on this earth."
She finished by wishing for "many many more awesome birthdays" together and calling T-Pain an "incredible, selfless, hilarious, fun, amazing man," as well as her "twin flame."
