Just one day after it was confirmed that Tom Steinfort is set to take over from Sylvia Jeffreys on the Today show, the former newsreader has issued a gushing farewell to her fans.
The 32-year-old took to her Twitter to thank her fans after Today bosses released a statement announcing âGeorgie Gardner, Deb Knight and Tom Steinfort will spearhead an energised and exciting TODAY Show in 2019â.
âTo my fabulous, hilarious, crazy talented @thetodayshow friends, I love you,â she wrote.
âAnd to all of you whoâve welcomed me into your homes each morning, thank you.
âCanât wait to share my next move with you & in the meantime, Iâll be waking up with Today in my pjâs & beside my husband.â

The 46-year-old is set to front Channel Nineâs breakfast television show alongside current host Georgie Gardner, while Tom Steinfort will replace Sylvia Jeffreys as Today newsreader.
The new hosting team will kick off their duties from January 14.
Sylvia, who is married to former Weekend Today co-host Peter Stefanovic, announced in December that she was bidding farewell to the programme.
âIâve loved and embraced every minute of my TODAY show chapter and feel humbled to have worked with so many passionate people â hosts, studio crew, cameramen and producers â who have become my great mates,â she said in a statement.
âThere are few shows that are fortunate to have such an engaged audience, and I thank our viewers for inviting me into their homes day after day.
âIâm thrilled to sink my teeth into a brand new project. Opportunity often knocks when you least expect it and Iâm ready to dive right in to whatâs ahead of me.â
It came days after her husband also revealed that he was leaving the job after 15 years and her brother-in-law, Karl Stefanovic, was dumped as co-host of the Today show.
