Sunrise's Matt Doran 'trolled' about Adele gaffe on his wedding day

Weekend Sunrise host Matt Doran has tied the knot with his Weekend Today show executive producer girlfriend, Kendall Bora in a surprise ceremony in Sydney.

While it's unclear when and where the wedding took place, Matt's Sunrise co-worker, Sam Mac broke the news by sharing several snaps of the big day on his Instagram on Friday morning.

Cheeky weatherman Sam couldn't resist poking fun at Matt's disastrous interview with singing superstar Adele back in November, for which he has since apologised.

Sam brought a magazine cover featuring the Grammy award winner along to the nuptials and struck a pose with the bride, groom and his girlfriend, stylist Rebecca James while holding the mag over his face.

Clearly, Sam wanted to make sure his friend was reminded of the infamous chat — during which Matt admitted to Adele that he hadn’t listened to her new album beforehand — on his big day.

Matt's gaffe was said to have cost Channel 7 the $1million they'd paid for the Aussie-exclusive interview after Adele's record label Sony refused to let it air.

"Trolling in the deep," Sam captioned the hilarious pic. "Congratulations @mattdoran22 & @kendallbora on an unforgettable day".

Over in the comments section, Sam's followers reacted to his what one called a "risky move".

"Go Eeeasy On Him...Sam," wrote another fan. "Great pic. Congratulations to Matt & Kendall".

"On his wedding day? But congratulations to Matt and Kendall! I’m sure he’s got something saved for you @sammacinsta for a big occasion," joked another.

Former star Olympian Libby Trickett wrote, "LOL. Too soon?"

The Accidental Weatherman author kept the digs rolling over on his Instagram Stories, where he referred to Matt as "the poor man's Jamie Durie" and a "groomzilla".

But it seems Sam got a taste of his own medicine when he reached the dining table, where his name tag read "Nikki Webster's backup dancer".

Sam was accompanied to the wedding by his girlfriend, Bec who looked stunning in a shimmering purple and pink dress with a plunging neckline and a backless panel.

After Sam spilled the beans about the nuptials, Matt took to his own Instagram account to share several sweet snaps from the event which appears to have taken place on the Pittwater.

"The best day of my life with my magnificent wife," he wrote.

Matt and Kendall began dating in 2019 after being introduced by mutual friends. On New Year's Eve last year, Matt popped the question to Channel Nine staffer Kendall, joking that he was 'officially sleeping with the enemy'.

Matt was previously in a three-year relationship with former MasterChef star Justine Schofield that ended in 2017, while Kendall dated Dr. Chris Brown from 2016 to 2018.
