Sunrise host Natalie Barr has taken to Instagram to upload an emotional family update. The 55-year-old was left feeling sentimental on Wednesday on her 18-year-old son Hunter’s Year 12 Speech night.

In a selfie posted to her social media account, Nat wrote: “Last speech night. When they say the days go slow but the years go fast, they mean it. Packed the tissues. 🥲”.

Nat was supported by a host of followers who knew the feeling all too well.

In September, Nat gave supermodel Miranda Kerr some career advice while she made an appearance on Sunrise.

"It's my last child's last day of school today, so I know it gets busy, but make the most of it,” Nat said. "Because then you'll be crying like I will be next week when they have their assembly."

While Nat is typically private about her personal life, she was photographed with her sons, 18-year-old Hunter and 22-year-old Lachlan, for the first time publicly in 2021 for a Women’s Weekly cover shoot.

“I may have this amazing career, but Andrew and the boys come first,” she said in the interview.

“Of course, I have always been able to run out the door to cover a story when I need to, but I only ever did that when the boys were old enough to deal with it and to be left at home.

While Nat may have been feeling emotional in her Instagram post, her week was also filled with some pretty epic career highlights after she got to interview Richard Branson onboard his new cruise liner, Resilient Lady.

The pair posed together in front of the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge, with Nat captioning the snap: "That morning when I dumped @mattshirvo for @richardbranson on the deck of his newest @virginvoyages 🚢 Resilient Lady."
