Stranger Things has released a new trailer that has left fans clinging to their seats as the drama promises to ramp up.

The typically foreboding preview kicks off with an ominous warning.

“You let us in, and now you’re going to have to let us stay,” a gravelly unidentified voice booms out over neon footage of a fairground and the series main characters.

“What if we locked them in,” a terrified Will wonders.

“He’d want to attach himself to someone again. A new host.”

The spine-tingling preview is the last teaser and provides expectant fans with a number of key hints at whats to come.

It ain’t over folks

Looks like we all cheered too soon - again.

Some form of Demogorgon is back and stomping around Hawkins.

Moments of footage show the monster’s feet, and the tell-tale stream of vermin that suggest a foreign monster in the water.

Or general area.

Bad boy Billy

As Will wonders out loud about a new host - a body for the monster to inhabit like it did him in season one - the camera pans to Billy.

Fans will remember Billy as the school bully whop rocks a mullet to write home about, and as the camera settles on his face it looks like he might be kicking it up a notch or two this season.

Bigger, nastier, and plural

The brief glimpses the trailer gives suggest this time around there is more than one monster await.

“Now it’s time,” the voice booms out.

“We will destroy everyone.”

Unlikely to be the royal ‘we’ it looks like there’s monsters galore in the series third season.

There’s something science-y afoot

Steve and Dustin and a new player in a sailor uniform are seen handling glowing green vials.

That plus the guys stomping around in official lab coats and suits suggest another conspiracy twist around the corner for Hawkins.

Eleven looks good, girl

Eleven’s had a bit of a makeover, and we are digging it.

Not to detract from her crazy supernatural abilities and likely role as heroine of Hawkins 3.0, but she’s rocking those big 80’s shirts like nobody’s business.

Stranger Things 3 hits Aussie screens on July 15th.
