Who Is Steve-O’s Fiancée? All About Lux Wright
Steve-O spent six months planning his proposal to Lux Wright
Steve-O is no stranger to taking risks, including in his relationship to his fiancée, Lux Wright.
The entertainer is best known for his role on MTV's Jackass television series and films. Next up for the stunt man? Marriage.
In January 2018, Steve-O (born Stephen Glover) got engaged to Lux Wright. The next day, he shared the happy news with an Instagram post, writing, "Last night, in front of a bunch of my Jackass buddies, my closest friends, my dad, and my sister... she said 'yes.' "
This will be Steve-O's third marriage; he was previously wed to Candy-Jane Tucker from 2002 to 2003 and to Brittany McGraw from 2006 to 2008.
So who is Steve-O's fiancée? Here's everything to know about Lux Wright and her relationship with the reality star.
She's from California
Born on May 18, 1987, Luxola Wright grew up in Oceanside, California, and now resides in Los Angeles with Steve-O.
In January 2022, she shared a photo of one of the city's most famous hotels. "Somehow in my 13+ years in LA, I had never been to @thehollywoodroosevelt until now," she wrote.
And being so close to Hollywood, Wright is able to make appearances at her fiancé's red carpet events, even if he can't make it himself.
"Baby couldn't attend last night's premiere, but I facetimed him for the red carpet so he could see it all, say hi to everyone, and he got some photos in," the stylist captioned a photo of her and Steve-O video chatting at the Jackass Forever's first screening in February 2022.
"I am so incredibly happy for him and all involved with this movie. It's ridiculously hilarious, crazy, and the good time we all need right now♥️ #jackassforever," she added.
She's a stylist and set producer
With a degree in visual communications from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, Wright is a freelance wardrobe stylist and production set designer, per her website.
"I quickly learned that the production world is exactly where I wanted to be," Wright told Santa Barbara Life & Style Magazine in March 2022. "I found that working in the fast-paced environment of commercials and photoshoots pushed me to do my best work and allowed that creative freedom I was looking for."
She's worked with some of the biggest names in Hollywood — such as Angelina Jolie, Kendall Jenner, Cher and Will Smith — and has produced advertisements, commercials and editorial photoshoots for magazines like Architectural Digest.
The fashionista also brings her sense of style to Depop and runs her own shop, @styledbylux.
She met Steve-O through work
Wright first met Steve-O in late 2016 while working on a photoshoot with him. She later said that she was impressed with his work ethic and how dedicated he was on set during filming.
During a 2021 episode of her fiancé's podcast, Steve-O's Wild Ride, Wright shared that she was the one to make the first move the following week. "I felt like we did have a connection overall in the shoot," she said, before adding that the pair "kept it professional."
"She slid into the DMs," Steve-O added.
Wright also worked with her fiancé on his 2020 comedy special, Gnarly. Not only did she appear in the film, but she's also credited as an executive producer on the project.
They didn't kiss for the first month of dating
In January 2017, the lovebirds had their first date at a vegan restaurant in L.A. Afterward, Steve-O walked Wright to her car and gave her a kiss on the cheek. For nearly a month, that's as far as things went between them.
"I had a terrible track record with relationships," the entertainer told Graham Bensinger on his podcast, adding that, with Wright, he wanted to "do things in a responsible way."
Their first kiss didn't happen until a month after their first date. "Immediately, there was no more pacing ourselves," Steve-O revealed.
Following the milestone, the couple moved in together.
They don't plan on having kids
During a joint appearance on In Depth with Graham Bensinger in 2019, the couple shared that they don't plan on having children.
"I've never wanted kids or had that desire," Wright told Bensinger.
Steve-O stated further that he worried about having "really problematic offspring," given his past struggles with drug addiction. "I feel like if I ever got to the point of feeling like I actually wanted to take care of another human ... adopt or foster."
"There [are] enough people in need," Steve-O went on to say. "Why create more need?"
She's an animal lover
In October 2015, Steve-O was sentenced to 30 days in jail after he climbed a 100-foot crane in Hollywood to protest SeaWorld. Like her fiancé, Wright is an avid animal lover.
The couple have already adopted a number of cats, dogs and goats together. In fact, the two of them plan to open up an animal sanctuary in Canada and get married on that property.
"Instead of having kids, we want to just pour ourselves into helping animals," Steve-O revealed to Extra in January 2022.
A few months later, Wright posted a photo of their latest rescue dog on Instagram, noting that they had a total of 10 animals.
Steve-O planned his proposal for six months
On Jan. 20, 2018, Steve-O popped the question on stage while filming Gnarly, telling TMZ that the comedy special "had a lot to do with learning how to [be] in a healthy relationship."
Steve-O also said he spent six months planning the proposal and that he chose the ring carefully, saying, "It's not going to get in the way of her work."
The next day, Wright announced the news of their engagement on Instagram, writing, "Last night was the absolute best! I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you ❤️."
