Stephen Colbert Spots Big Rally Moment 'Specifically Designed' To Get Under Trump's Skin

Stephen Colbert said Vice President Kamala Harris’ rally in Washington this week had a few elements intended to troll Donald Trump.

“She delivered a speech specifically designed to purple Trump’s nurple,” Colbert said.

The rally, he noted, was held on the Ellipse, which was the site of the speech Trump gave on Jan. 6, 2021, before his supporters attacked the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to block the certification of the election results.

Or as Colbert called it, “the same place where Donald Trump held his Let’s Go Beat Up Some Cops Rally.”

The “Late Show” host noted that Trump’s Jan. 6 rally had about 53,000, while Harris drew an estimated 75,000.

Colbert broke out his Trump impression.

“Look, mine just looks smaller because it was January and you know how the cold gives a big crowd the shrinky-dinks,” Colbert said in his Trump voice.

The Harris rally even used “Y.M.C.A.,” the Village People classic that Trump loves to play at his own rallies.

Colbert called the tune “the only thing that makes Trump happy.”

Naturally, he went back to his Trump impression to rant about the use of the song.
