Steph Curry's Favorite Pasta Is a Weeknight Dinner Game-Changer

The Olympics may be all wrapped up, but if you're a superstar like Steph Curry, there's never a time when you're not winning. From his time on the court to his time spent at home as a father of four and husband to Ayesha Curry, Steph has continued to show us why he's one of the best to ever do it.

While he's highly regarded for his basketball talent (and sometimes also for his golfing expertise), lately it's been his 5-ingredient weeknight pasta that has people talking. Made with a list of super-simple ingredients, the fast and easy recipe is said to be one that he loves to make at home. And if it's good enough for an Olympian, I felt like it should be good enough for me. To test that theory, I headed to the store to pick up the ingredients I needed and jumped in the kitchen to see if this recipe would be a slam dunk—or a total airball. Here's how it went.

How to Make Steph Curry’s Weeknight Pasta

Start by cooking the noodles according to the package directions. Once done, drain the noodles, reserving 1/2 cup of the cooking water, and return them to the pot.

While the noodles cook, heat a large skillet over medium heat, add the pancetta and cook until crisp, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove the pancetta with a slotted spoon and place it on a paper towel-lined plate. Discard half the fat in the pan, leaving about 1/4 cup. Add the peppers and cook over medium heat until tender, about 5 to 7 minutes.

In a large bowl, toss the noodles with the cheese and 1/4 cup of the reserved cooking water, adding more water if needed. Gently fold in the peppers, pancetta, and basil. Top with more cheese if desired.

Steph Curry's 5-ingredient pasta is a game-changer for anyone who values simplicity, and speed in their meals. With just five ingredients—egg noodles, pancetta, red peppers, Parmesan and fresh basil—this dish delivers big on flavor while keeping things refreshingly uncomplicated. The prep is quick and easy, which makes it the perfect recipe for those busy weeknights when you want something tasty without spending hours in the kitchen.

Cooking the pasta and crisping up the pancetta is straightforward, and I loved how little effort it took to achieve such a satisfying meal. The step of tossing the noodles with cheese and a bit of reserved pasta water is a clever trick that creates a creamy, sauce without the need for heavy cream or butter. Adding the sautéed peppers and crispy pancetta gives the dish a lovely balance of textures and flavors, with the fresh basil adding a bright, herbal note that ties everything together.
