Starbucks’ US Fans Express Jealousy Over ‘Tasty’ New Menu Items: ‘Why Tease Us’

International chains know that their audience in one country isn’t necessarily going to like the same things as people in other markets.

As a result, big food brands will change their menu items depending on the people they’re selling to, which makes sense, unless you happen to be a fan in a country that doesn’t have a menu item you want to try.

Starbucks fans outside of Japan are experiencing that right now, as the coffee chain has rolled out three new beverages exclusive to the country.

The Chocolate Symphony drinks, which come in “Blonde, Classic, and Ruby” flavors, “all have chocolate whipped cream with a chocolate drizzle on top while the bottom is filled with chocolate sauce and crunchy chocolate cookies,” shared the influencer on Jan. 24.

Fans were quick to jump into the comments to voice their complaints, writing “We Need them in the us,” and “Aww i would definitely try these. These need to come to the US and everywhere else.”

“It hurts when I see it’s not in the US 😭😭😭,” wrote a third fan. “Stop teasing me 😭,” agreed another. The sentiment seemed universal, with fans writing that “All the good stuff is always international 😢.” One fan who tried the drinks said “It was tasty🍫,” and posted photos of the beverages on their own account.

One commenter pointed out that while the specific drinks are not on the Starbucks menu in the United States, there’s a workaround.

“I mean they technically *can* do this. The only thing would be you couldn’t order the chocolate whipped cream since they wouldn’t make a whole whip for one drink. But essentially it’s a blonde espresso Frappuccino with mocha on the bottom,” they wrote.
