Starbucks Red Cup Day 2024 is today — here's how to get your free reusable holiday cup
Don't miss out on this year's collectible freebie, coffee lovers — today's the only day to get it.
Today is Starbucks Red Cup Day! These limited-edition reusable cups only come around one day per year, and now's your chance to snag one for free.
These are especially nice to have if you visit the coffee chain multiple times per week — you can use them at the store in lieu of a plastic or paper cup. Starbucks has pledged to cut waste in half by 2030, and you can help by bringing reusable cups to the store.
When is Starbucks Red Cup Day?
Starbucks announced that Red Cup Day is Thursday, Nov. 14 — that's today! So if you want the cup, you'll need to carve out some time to grab one.
The limited-edition holiday cup comes in Starbucks' 16-ounce Grande size. You never know when stores will run out, so we don't recommend waiting until evening to go.
How to get a free Starbucks reusable cup
To snag a free Starbucks cup, all you have to do is order one of this year's eligible drinks (see the full list below) on Red Cup Day in any size. You can get the cup in stores, via the Starbucks app, or via Starbucks delivery on DoorDash, GrubHub or Uber Eats. (Note that the actual drink you order won't arrive in the reusable cup, and will instead be in a plastic or paper cup. The reusable cup will be handed to you in addition to the drink you ordered.)
And that's it — there's no need to say a magic word, swipe a gold card or anything else to get your cup. If you don't receive the free cup with your order, ask a barista whether your drink is eligible or whether they've run out of cups.
Which Starbucks drinks are eligible for a red cup?
Any holiday or fall drink order will net you a free cup, regardless of size or temperature. Here's the Starbucks 2024 holiday drink lineup. (Also, check out how much sugar and caffeine is actually in the holiday drinks.)

Are there any benefits to having the Starbucks red cup?
Aside from preventing more waste, you can also get 10 cents off your order each time you use your cup. And if you're a Starbucks rewards member and you place your order in the Starbucks app, you'll get 25 bonus stars every time you indicate that you're bringing your own cup. (Don't forget to ditch plastic water bottles for something reusable too — here are some of the best water bottles of 2024, including Stanley, Owala and more).
