Staff at Taylor Swift's Zurich Eras Tour Try to Help Fans Combat Intense Heat Before the Show

One stadium on Taylor Swift's Eras Tour is doing everything they can to prevent Zürich concertgoers from having a "Cruel Summer."

As fans lined up at Stadion Letzigrund in Zürich, Switzerland ahead of the singer's concert on Tuesday, July 9, they were met with high temperatures that we know can create uncomfortable—and potentially even dangerous— situation for the thousands of attendees gathering to see the show.

But to combat the heat, the Eras Tour staff at Stadion Letzigrund was prepared, being proactive by handing out mylar rescue blankets to help fans shield themselves from the sun.

According to the unofficial Eras Tour X account, the blankets were provided to fans for free.

The venue was also said to be giving out free drinking water, as seen in photos shared to X by The Eras Tour page. In the pic, Swifties could be seen reaching into a giant bucket to grab the complimentary bottles.

A video on X also showed the water machines that the venue set up ahead of the performance, spraying a cool mist over the fans who will be standing in the general admission section on the floor.

"Zurich: Free Water Free Water Machine for the crowd Free blanket for sun," the Eras Tour page tweeted, while writing "Thank you!" to the staff at the venue.

"this is what helps fans NOT pass out or even pass away at concerts," one user wrote on X, calling the Zürich stadium "amazing."

"Props to them," another fan wrote.

Many of Swift's fans already know what it's like to deal with extreme temperatures while at a concert, as a similar—yet much more dire—situation already went down during the singer's tour stop in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil in November 2023.

Intense heat nearing 100 degrees caused some fans in the crowd to pass out, while others tried to get Swift's attention to ask for water in the middle of the concert after the stadium reportedly prohibited fans from bringing water in from outside the venue.

One fan, 23-year-old Clara Benevides, was among those who passed out at the start of the show and tragically ended up dying hours later.

Swift later postponed her show scheduled for the following night, waiting for the heat to come down before getting back out on stage.
