Emma Freedman accused of 'victim shaming'
Radio host Emma Freedman has hit the headlines after taking a controversial stance in a nude photo scandal, causing outraged viewers to accuse her of 'victim shaming.'
Whilst hosting Sports Sunday, the blonde was part of a panel who were discussing Richmond Football Club’s nude photo scandal.
During the segment, her co-host Peter FitzSimons asked the blonde what her thoughts were, and after a brief pause, she delivered an unexpected response.
“My opinion on it, Peter, is," Emma said. "Don’t take your clothes off, to be honest."
As well as infuriating Peter, the Internet were quick to slam the Triple M brekkie host for 'blaming' the woman involved.
Thanks for being the voice of reason! People blaming the victim make me sick.

That panel is a joke. How can they possibly blame the woman who’s had a nude photo of herself shared around by this dh???

was quite taken aback that Em focussed on "well she shouldn't have been naked". entirely missed the point & is tad close 2 slutshaming IMHO

The photos in question, of a topless woman wearing a Tigers medal, have been heavily circulated on social media with the woman involved making a formal complaint to police about the photos taken of her being shared without her consent.
Despite trying to explain herself on the show, Emma has since taken to Twitter to justify her heavily criticised response.
Hopefully this helps clarify my comments on today’s show. I respect others positions, hopefully you can do the same with mine 😊 pic.twitter.com/7sD5BoDh6t

She also reiterated her standpoint on her radio show earlier today, saying “I truly believe in what I’m saying, so I’m not going to back down”.
No charges have currently been brought against the football player involved in sharing the images.
