Sphynx Cat Delivers Endless Cuddles to Help French Bulldog Heal After Surgery

Some connections are unexplainable, but they come into your life at the exact time you need them. A Sphynx named Freya recently found her forever home with French Bulldog Emmett after he lost his companion, another Sphynx named Gollum. Now, as the pup recovers from surgery, Freya's right there by his side, just like Gollum would've wanted.

The heartwarming video posted on Instagram by @goodboy.emmett shows the pup recovering from surgery, with the sweetest nurse, Freya. Grab the tissues and take a look at this tearjerker!

The clip shows little Emmett—who is a new rescue from Roadogs Rescue— as he recovers from a life saving tracheostomy surgery. When his mom checked the camera footage to check on him, she noticed Freya right there with him. She comforts Emmett as he sleeps, licks his wounds, and fills the hole that the loss of Gollum, who passed in June, left behind.

The caption describes Gollum as a "kind gentle spirit" who loved every dog they fostered and when he passed, Emmett became very down. Freya came along just one week later.

"I truly believe she was sent to us because Gollum knew everything was about to happen to Emmett and he still needed him," she said. "Freya is just continuing Gollum’s work to show the world that kindness heals."

The Frenchie's devoted fans poured in to offer Emmett and his new companion the very best while honoring Gollum.

"They had a special love! Gollum passed the torch to Freya. This was truly a soul connection. Nothing is ever coincidence. ever." one person shared. "This is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. My heart just grew 4 sizes," another said."Gollum did a good job sending Freya to Emmet," another added.

This video proves that love heals and no one feels that more than Emmett.

Sphynx Cats Are Natural Caretakers

Freya and her big heart show what's possible when a rescue pet gets a second chance. PetMD says Sphynx cats have a lot going for them—more than their eye-catching, hairless frame.

Known to be lovable, social, and curious, this breed is a fan of hanging out and snuggling together. Yes, it keeps them warm but they do it because they have an affinity for forming close bonds with their people, including children, and other pets. This is the type of feline that will be right behind you wherever you go or sleeping in the dog bed with their best friend. They love to comfort and care for those around them.

The Sphynx longs to be a part of everything going on, with everyone they love, which can cause a bit of separation anxiety if left alone. They do best in households with playmates and are even considered to have "dog-like" personalities, making them a perfect match for your pup. Look at Emmett and Freya. They're meant to be!

We're so thankful Emmett is on the mend physically and emotionally, and it's all thanks to sweet Freya.
