The new Mercedes-Benz electric G-Class has already been entrusted with some pretty precious cargo.
The German luxury marque has just unveiled the custom version of the battery-powered G-Wagen that will be used to carry this year’s League of Legends trophy. The EV will ferry the “Summoner’s Cup” around Europe in the leadup to the finale of this season’s World Championship which will be hosted in London later this fall.

The one-off G-Class was designed by the automaker’s Manufakture customization team. The boxy SUV is finished in matte black and has the competition’s 2024 motto, “Make Them Believe,” splashed across its side in giant white lettering. Inside the vehicle, you’ll find the League of Legends logo embroidered into the seat headrests and a bespoke trunk module designed specifically for the Summoners Cup. Rounding things out is branding identifying the EV as this season’s “Official Trophy Carrier” as well as the logo for Riot Games, the maker of League of Legends.
Mercedes’ announcement features no technical details about the EV, but the electric G-Class is powered by a quad-motor powertrain that produces 579 hp and 859 ft lbs of torque. Thanks to all that oomph, the SUV can go from zero to 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 112 mph. the marque hasn’t announced an official range yet, but it’s been reported that the latest G-Wagen will be able to travel around 240 miles on a single charge.
The unique G-Class makes it debut the same week that play-in for Worlds 2024 kicks off in Berlin. The quarter- and semi-finals will be held next month in Paris, and the final on November 2 in London. The EV will be used to transport the trophy between each leg of the championship.
This is far from Mercedes first involvement with League of Legends. The automaker’s South Korean wing sponsors one of the game’s premier e-sports teams, T1. It gifted the team’s star player, four-time champion Lee “Faker’” Sang-hyeok, with a custom SL when he was became the first inductee into the League of Legends Hall of Legends. Additionally, the marque designed a “virtual show car”—basically a really out there concept—for Worlds 2022. That vehicle features prominently in animated video for that year’s League of Legends world anthem, “Star Walkin,’” by Lil Nas X.
