Slow Horses Gets Very Early Season 7 Renewal, Ahead of Season 5 (!) Premiere
Slow but steady does, apparently, win the race: Apple TV+ has renewed Slow Horses for Season 7, TVLine has learned, even though Season 5 will not premiere until later this year.
The dark comedy, which stars Gary Oldman as the head of a group of British intelligence agents, was renewed for Season 6 in October 2024.

“Slow Horses has won fans all over the world with its unique mix of self-deprecating British humor and high-octane action. I’m delighted viewers will have another season to enjoy Gary’s magnificent performance as Jackson Lamb alongside the Slow Horses slightly inept spycraft,” Jay Hunt, creative director, Europe, Apple TV+, said via statement.
Per an official release, “In Season 7, Lamb and his Slow Horses are on the hunt to find and neutralize a mole at the heart of British Government before they can bring down the state.” But that’ll happen after the events of Seasons 5, which is slated for a two-episode premiere on Sept. 24, and Season 6.
Slow Horses won its first Primetime Emmy Award in 2024 — Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series. The show was nominated in four other categories that same year: Outstanding Drama Series, Lead Actor (Oldman) and Supporting Actor (Jack Lowden) in a Drama Series, and Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series.
