Meri Brown is embracing a new chapter in her life after finding closure with ex Kody Brown.
The Sister Wives star, 53, told PEOPLE that she is feeling “really good” following her split from Kody after 32 years of marriage in December 2022.
“I feel like I have a direction and I'm doing really well,” she shared while speaking to PEOPLE for an August 2023 cover story. “There's definitely been a lot of clarity that has come over the past year or so with me and my relationship with Kody.”

Meri BrownThe reality star explained that she found closure through the “conversations that Kody and I were actually finally able to have.” She added, “And we've just been able to be real raw and honest and open with each other, and that's been good. I mean, it really has.”
Meri — who recently announced that she is in a new relationship — also shared she doesn’t hold any ill will towards her ex.
“It's not like we have a bitter divorce, a bitter separation, we're good,” she explained. “We also don't talk every day, so it's not like we're best friend status either, but I feel like we're pretty comfortable with each other. And I feel like, honestly, I think that's the best way to be.”
Meri admitted that she wishes “we could have had some of the conversations sooner. And also, I don't know if I would've been ready to have some of the conversations sooner.”
“So it's not like I can live my life with regret and wish something would've happened,” she added. “I think we all do that to some degree, but I know that there's things that I needed to learn, and I know there's things that I needed to do to be able to be in the place that I am right now with the whole thing.”
On Wednesday, Meri revealed that she is dating a “good looking guy” called Amos as she marked her 53rd birthday on Instagram.
Alongside a carousel of images of herself and Amos together, Brown wrote, “Birthday #53 is looking a bit different for me this year, and might I say, I like how it looks! Meet Amos, the good looking guy I've been dating since October!”
“He's not 6 foot 6, nor is he a pilot, but he loves Christmas almost as much as I do, and we laugh a lot together, both of which are important elements to a relationship!”
Opening up about why she has kept the news private, she continued, “I've been keeping this kind of close to me as we've been enjoying the last few months of dating and getting to know each other.”
