Sharon Stone's 'Mind Is Completely Blown' After Learning Her Relative Is 'One of the Most Important People in History' (Exclusive)

Henry Louis Gates Jr. leaves the actress speechless after revealing her ancestor "basically created modern Europe" on 'Finding Your Roots'

It seems Sharon Stone is not the only powerful person in her family.

In PEOPLE's exclusive look at the actress' appearance on the Jan. 28 episode of Finding Your Roots, Stone, 66, is at a loss for words when host Henry Louis Gates Jr. reveals that, on her paternal side, her lineage "culminates with one of the most famous men who ever lived."

Her father's side of the family was traced into the "very distant past" and Stone learned that she descends from two French kings — but also from Charlemagne, a historical figure who lived and ruled in Europe during the 8th century.

As she sees the portrait of her distant ancestor, Stone gasps, grabbing her glasses to get a closer look, and says, "No!"

"Charlemagne is your 38th great-grandfather," Gates tells her. "The first holy Roman Emperor. He was a mean dude."

"Charlemagne was my grandfather," Stone repeats back, her shock not wearing off quite yet.

"Your 38th great-grandfather," Gates confirms. "He's one of the most important people in history, of course, and he basically created modern Europe, with an iron will."

"Well if you wanna see someone whose mind is completely blown, here it is," a still-awestruck Stone says.

Chrissy Teigen will also learn about her family's history on the upcoming episode of Finding Your Roots, which premiered its 11th season on Jan. 7 with a startling revelation about Amanda Seyfried's third great-grandfather, who was murdered in cold blood. She shared, "I'm just like, 'How dare they!"

Though she didn't "know" him, obviously, she told Gates after learning of his fate, "He's family."

The following week, Joy Behar learned that her grandparents lived "across the street" from each other in a small Italian village before they were married. "It's almost incestuous what we're talking about here," the longtime co-host of The View, 82, said.

"You look out the window and there was the object of your desire, right there," Gates agreed.

On future episodes, the professor will dive into the family history of some other mega stars, including Debra Messing, Laurence Fishburne, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, celebrity chef José Andrés and more.
