During an exclusive interview with PEOPLE in November, the 23-time Grand Slam champion opened up about how her fitness goals have changed as she’s planning to run a half-marathon by the end of 2025.

“That's my new goal. So it's just like I have to do something competitive. I miss tennis like crazy,” said Serena, who officially retired from the sport in 2022.

Serena — who also shares daughter Adira, 1, with Alexis — elaborated more on her fitness routine amid her training for the upcoming race, and explained how it compares to her old routine for tennis.

“I've gotten obsessed, more obsessed with diet and exercise, I think, than when I was playing tennis,” she told PEOPLE. “I knew that I was going to burn 20,000 calories a day, and now I'm like, ‘Oh my god, I don't know how many calories I'm going to be able to burn!’”
