Selena Gomez Says 'People Tend to Question Every Part of My Life' But She's 'Solid'
"I'm genuinely happy where I am and I feel great," Gomez said on the 2025 Golden Globes red carpet, nearly one month after announcing her engagement to Benny Blanco
Selena Gomez is happy right where she is!
The 32-year-old singer-actress — who is a double nominee for her roles in Emilia Pérez and Only Murders in the Building at the 2025 Golden Globes — set the record straight about misconceptions about her during an appearance on E!'s Live from the Red Carpet.
"I'm not sure it's more about misconceptions other than the fact that I'm genuinely happy where I am and I feel great,” she said. "People tend to question every part of my life, but that's okay.”
“I think as long as I know where I am and who I'm around, I'm solid.” she added.

Gomez’s comments come less than a month after she and music producer Benny Blanco announced their engagement.
The Wizards of Waverly Place alum shared the happy news on social media on Dec. 11 alongside an up-close snap of her engagement ring and a pic of her and Blanco celebrating their engagement with laughs and a hug.
"forever begins now..," she captioned the post.
Blanco chimed in the comment section, writing, "hey wait… that’s my wife."
Shortly after confirming their engagement, Gomez’s Only Murders in the Building costars Steve Martin and Martin Short congratulated the couple.
Martin, 79, shared a photo of the trio on Instagram on Dec. 12, writing, "Congratulations to Benny and Selena, from her two weird uncles."
Later that month, Blanco reflected on the milestone on his Instagram Story, he wrote, “still can’t believe it” alongside a snapshot of him kissing Gomez on her head as they sat by a closet, while she held up her diamond ring.
He then shared a clip of him and the “Hands to Myself” singer clinking their champagne glasses together as they sat on the grass. The video featured Gomez grinning from ear to ear before letting out a chuckle.
Since then, the pair celebrated their first Christmas together at composer Benj Pasek's annual bash in New York.
Gomez also marked New Year's Eve by sharing a series of videos and photos of herself and the music producer. Gomez kicked off her slideshow with a shot of a paper plate with beans on which someone scratched "I love you" in ink. She also included a cozy selfie with Blanco, as well as a shot from a glam couple's night out in which he kissed Gomez's hand.
Gomez also shared a video seemingly from the same evening, in which she and Blanco shared a smooch.
