Chad Michael Murray is having a freaky summer!

In a joint Instagram post on Thursday, July 18, with Disney and Disney Studios, the One Tree Hill alum, 42, shared that he was on the Freaky Friday 2 set to reprise his role as Jake, Lindsay Lohan's character Anna Coleman's crush in 2003's Freaky Friday.

"Jake is back, baby," read the caption of a photo of Murray grinning while sitting on a motorcycle in a black t-shirt and jeans. "The sequel to Freaky Friday is coming to theaters 2025."

Lohan, 38, and Jamie Lee Curtis (Anna and Tess Coleman in the film respectively) posted a photo from the set on Instagram when the film first began shooting in June 2024.

"The Colemans are back and coming to theaters in 2025! The sequel to Freaky Friday is now in production!" read the caption of a photo of the Mean Girls star holding hands with Curtis, 65, as they sat on the steps outside of their respective trailers.

Since announcing that filming had begun, Lohan has been teasing the plot of the upcoming family comedy.

"It's going to be a really freaky Friday," she said during an appearance on Good Morning America on Thursday, June 27. "Much freakier than you would expect."

She added that there had been "a lot of love, a lot of fun, a lot of laughs" on the set so far.

Although specific details about the plot are being kept under wraps, Anna will be a mother in the body-switching sequel, which will also see Mark Harmon reprise the role of Ryan and feature newcomers Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, per The Hollywood Reporter in June.

Disney's official synopsis for the film reads: “As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might indeed strike twice.”

In another interview with Nightline in June, Lohan shared how she felt returning to the Disney lot, which was where many of her hit films — like The Parent Trap and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen — were filmed at the height of her fame.

"It's so many moments for me," she said of the company's lot. "So when I got there, I kind of felt like this essence of a little kid again."

After her debut in 1998's The Parent Trap, Lohan also filmed movies like 2000's Life-Size, 2002'sGet a Clue and 2005's Herbie: Fully Loaded for Disney.

Freaky Friday 2 hits theaters in 2025.
