Sean 'Diddy' Combs' legal troubles to be explored in 'Making of a Bad Boy' documentary
Sean "Diddy" Combs' alleged bad boy streak is coming under the microscope.
A trailer for the Peacock documentary special, "Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy," was released online Thursday. The upcoming doc, which comes four months after Combs' arrest on sexual abuse charges, will offer a "raw, exclusive look" at Combs' rise to fame and the damning criminal allegations that derailed his media empire.
"Sean Combs is a monster," attorney Lisa Bloom says in the opening of the nearly two-minute clip. Bloom is representing former Danity Kane singer Dawn Richard in her lawsuit against Combs, who she sued for 21 counts of sexual assault and battery, sex trafficking, gender discrimination and copyright infringement in a September filing.
Combs' alleged misconduct came under scrutiny in November 2023 when ex-girlfriend and "Me & U" singer Casandra "Cassie" Ventura accused Combs of rape, sex trafficking and physical abuse in a lawsuit that was promptly settled one day after Ventura filed. The lawsuit spurred multiple civil suits alleging rape and sexual assault by the hip-hop mogul.
"Making of a Bad Boy" will feature candid interviews with Combs' associates over the years, including the Bad Boy Records founder's friend, bodyguard, makeup artist, intern and producer.
"I've been with Sean for quite a while and I've captured a lot of moments," an unidentified insider says in the trailer. "Anytime a studio or any rooms (has red lighting), he's making love, sex. Some of the girls who were in the room, for sure, they were underage."
Among the various allegations leveled against him, Combs has been accused of sexually assaulting several individuals when they were minors, including a 13-year-old girl at an MTV Video Music Awards after-party in 2000 and a 10-year-old boy in 2005.
Combs was arrested in Manhattan in September and subsequently charged with racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. The Grammy-winning rapper, who's denied all accusations against him, remains in custody at the Special Housing Unit in Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center. His trial is set to commence on May 5.
"I think Sean Combs can get away with anything," a "Making of a Bad Boy" commentator reflects in Thursday's trailer.
"Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy" will stream on Peacock on Jan. 14.
