Sarah Danser Dies: Survivalist Who Appeared on Naked and Afraid Was 34

Sarah Danser, whose reality TV career included a memorable run on Warner Brothers Discovery’s Naked and Afraid franchise, died Tuesday in Kahala, Hawaii. She was 34 years old.

According to Honolulu police, Danser was the passenger in a parked car that was struck by a vehicle whose driver lost control on the road. The accident occurred on Sunday, Oct. 20, at which time Danser was listed in critical condition. She died two days later.

Danser worked for Island Divers Hawaii, which posted this tribute to its beloved employee on Facebook: “Heavy hearts as we say goodbye to a good friend and great captain. Sarah brought such great energy to everyone she came in contact with. You will be greatly missed.”

Danser first appeared on Naked and Afraid in the Season 8 premiere (2017), making history as one of the show’s first survivalists to be stranded at sea. She returned as an all-star in Season 11 (2020), making a dangerous trek through the Mexican rainforest.

She also made multiple appearances on Naked and Afraid XL, as both a survivalist and a commentator, between 2018 and 2021. She returned to reality TV in 2023 on The CW’s Fight to Survive.
