Sand Land’s Custom Car Looks Amazing In New Gameplay Footage

SAND LAND Custom Car Gameplay

The upcoming Sand Land game is looking to be a pretty interesting game, and it’s tying in with a Sand Land anime after a movie was released earlier this year. It’s still over a month away, but we’ve started to see more of the game, and the latest marketing teaser might be the coolest one yet.

Bandai Namco has released a trailer for Sand Land, showing off another of the game’s features: the custom car. Sand Land lets you build and customize a car that you can summon at any time through a capsule, making it very useful for sudden combat encounters with large groups of enemies, or just for getting around.

The trailer shows us multiple configurations for the custom car, each with different weapon setups. One of them has a giant gatling gun you can hop into at any time to lay waste to enemies, while another has automatic weapons that fire at enemies for you as you drive past.

Sand Land seems to have a pretty big focus on vehicles, as we’ve seen in previous trailers with different mechs and constructs. All of these seem to be very customizable, from shape and function to color and aesthetics, with seemingly thousands of possible combinations.

The game is based on a short manga from Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball and artist on games like Chrono Trigger and Dragon Quest. Toriyama sadly passed away earlier this month, after suffering from acute subdural hematoma. He was 68 years old.

Sand Land is one of many projects Toriyama was contributing to before his death, including Dragon Ball Daima, an upcoming anime, the Dragon Ball Super manga, and presumably Dragon Quest 12.

Sand Land will be released on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on April 26, 2024.
