Sabrina Dhowre Elba Favors Ruffles in Saint Laurent Dress for the BAFTA 2025 Rising Star Party Red Carpet

Sabrina Dhowre Elba favored ruffles with her look for the Vanity Fair EE BAFTA 2025 Rising Star Party red carpet on Wednesday in London. The S’Able cofounder joined such talents as “Anora” Oscar nominee Mikey Madison and “Industry” star Marisa Abela for the star-studded night.

For the occasion, Elba opted for a long-sleeve maxidress courtesy of Saint Laurent. The semi-sheer maxi look is made of certified silk, featuring a tied pierrot collar and a plunging décolletée slit. The dress also included long bishop sleeves.

As for the skirt of the dress, Elba’s look featured a prairie-style skirt with a smocked basque waist and frilled trims. The skirt created a flowing silhouette that added to the orange ensemble. She paired the frock with pointed-toe heeled boots in a similar shade.

When it came to her accessories, Elba opted for splashes of gold. She wore an ornate statement necklace that draped down her plunging neckline and gold hoop earrings as well as a few gold bangles to complete the look.

Elba’s hair was styled in a pixie cut with a few pieces of fringe to frame her face. Her makeup featured bold brows, a lightly lined eye and a gloss lip to complete the ensemble, creating an effortlessly chic look.

Elba, the wife of actor Idris Elba, has long had her eyes on the world of fashion and beauty. The Elbas officially launched S’Able Labs in 2022 — the company is a genderless skincare brand that sources its products in Africa. “Skin care knowledge was democratized and I was very frustrated with where I was with my acne-prone skin,” Sabrina Dhowre Elba told Beauty Inc.’s editor in chief Jenny B. Fine during WWD x FN x Beauty Inc’s annual Women In Power forum in September 2024.

“The needs of melanin-rich skin are unfortunately seen as niche. It’s drier because it lacks ceramides, it’s more sensitive, being more prone to inflammation. What you get is skin care that’s actually better for a greater part of the population,” she said. “I tried to figure out why every dermatologist just threw tretinoin at my face, and wasn’t addressing hyperpigmentation the way I think it needs to be.”
