She's a star!
Sabrina Carpenter arrived on the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards red carpet on Sept. 11 in her signature sparkle — and in a very familiar dress! The "Espresso" singer, 25, who is nominated for six awards at this year's show, pulled out all the stops with her look and pulled a dress out of the archives.
Carpenter wore a sparkling vintage Bob Mackie gown that Madonna previously wore in 1991 for the Oscars. The gorgeous white gown with a sweetheart neckline had silver beaded detailing around the top that perfectly showed off her delicate necklace from De Beers (she also wore earrings and a ring from the brand). Her bombshell blonde hair was styled in voluminous curls by Evanie Frausto, giving her Madonna vibes and evoking a bit of Marilyn Monroe at the same time.
Her glam was dewy and gorgeous with a bright red lip, courtesy of makeup artist Carolina Gonzalez. Gonzalez used Velour lashes to achieve a "dreamy pinup" look for Carpenter for the night, she said in a press release.

Carpenter is on top of the world right now. She just released her latest album Short n' Sweet in August, which is where fans can find her VMAs-nominated tracks. In an interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe in August, she said the title of the album wasn't just about her height.
"I called it Short n' Sweet for multiple reasons. It was not because I'm vertically challenged," Carpenter said. "I thought about some of these relationships and how some of them were the shortest I've ever had, and they affected me the most."
Some of the people closest to Carpenter have openly hyped the album, including her on-again-off-again love interest Barry Keoghan — who praised it on Instagram in August — and bestie Joey King.
King told PEOPLE during New York Fashion Week that "Don't Smile" is actually just "perfect" but she rotates between which song is her favorite on any given day.
The 2024 MTV VMAs air on Sept. 11 at 8 p.m. ET/ PT live from the UBS Arena in New York.
