Sabrina Carpenter Knew She Was 'Destined' for Pop Stardom Since Childhood: 'I'm a Little Bit of a Freak Manifester'

In a cover story for 'PAPER Magazine,' the pop star opened up about the hard work that went into her career

Sabrina Carpenter has always known she was meant for pop stardom.

In a cover story for PAPER Magazine, the pop star, 25, opened up about how she's a "freak manifester" and discussed the hard work that went into her career.

While Carpenter wasn't sure when her pop career would truly take off, she knew it was only a matter of time.

“I don't know how to describe it,” the "Feather" singer told the outlet. “When you're a child and you just have a feeling of, I know I'm going to do this somedayI know I'm going to do this for the rest of my life. I know this is the path I need to followwhatever that means for me, and whatever success that means for me is what I'm destined for."

From a young age, Carpenter had "dreams and goals."

"I will say I’m a little bit of a freak manifester sometimes, which is a blessing and a curse depending on how you look at it," she said. "I always knew deep down that this was something I would do with my life, and I didn't ever really doubt that, even when s--- was hitting the ceiling fan."

Added Carpenter, "I don’t think I ever doubted it.”

In June, the "Nonsense" performer announced her forthcoming album, which features viral singles "Espresso" and "Please Please Please."

“MY NEW ALBUM IS COMING OUT AUGUST 23rd!!!!💋,” Carpenter wrote on social media. “This project is quite special to me and I hope it’ll be something special to you too.”

The announcement also included her album's cover artwork, which features the former teen actor’s long blonde hair cascading down her back and a red kiss mark on her left shoulder. The back cover then reveals a tiny Short n’ Sweet tattoo on her right shoulder.

Carpenter's sixth studio album Short n’ Sweet is due Friday, Aug. 23,
