Sabrina Carpenter Decked Out Her Backless 2025 Grammys Dress with 80 Carats of Dazzling Diamonds
Carpenter, who is nominated for six awards, wore JW Anderson and Chopard
Everyone's gonna be thinking about Sabrina Carpenter after the 2025 Grammys.
It's no surprise that the singer, 25, secured a seat — and six nominations — at music's biggest night after the past year turned her into one of the biggest pop stars on the planet (in case you missed it, the Disney alum opened for Taylor Swift, embarked on her first arena tour, made her Coachella debut, released her sixth studio album Short n' Sweet and even partnered with Dunkin' on a custom coffee order).
And with the spotlight on her music career, the "Espresso" singer has cemented her status as one of the fashion industry's It girls. Look no further than her Grammys look.
Carpenter, styled by Jared Ellner, took everyone by surprise in a baby blue halter gown with a peplum and floor-grazing skirt hem covered in plumes.
The gorgeous design, which according to E! style correspondent Zanna Roberts Rassi was by Jonathan Anderson, deserved a 360-degree view as the back dipped all the way down to her rear and was decked out in a string of 19 carats of Chopard diamonds.
The 18K white gold sautoir culminated with a massive 50-carat D-flawless brilliant-cut gemstone from Chopard's Garden of Kalahari Collection. She also wore pear-shaped diamond earrings and a 10.10-carat oval brilliant diamond ring from the jeweler.
And if that wasn't enough, Carpenter's dress gave fans a rare glimpse at the butterfly tattoo on her ribcage and the written ink on her shoulder.
To complete her look, Carpenter wore her signature glam by makeup artist Carolina Gonzalez, who used Velour faux lashes to give her eye makeup a fluttery look. Hairstylist Laura Heaps created a vintage updo with bouncy curls.

Carpenter is among the first-timers at the Grammys and is up for six awards in addition to Chappell Roan and Swift. She's nominated for best new artist, record of the year and best pop solo performance ("Espresso"), song of the year ("Please Please Please") as well as album of the year and best pop vocal album (Short n' Sweet). She is also one of the guests performing in a lineup with Chappell Roan, Billie Eilish, Carli xcx, Shakira and more stars. She won the trophy for best pop solo performance for "Espresso" during the preshow — her first Grammy ever.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Carpenter opened up about her journey to Grammys milestones, despite having been in music for the past decade (she'd already released five albums when “Espresso” took hold of the charts last April).
“I’ve always been true to myself and believed in my work since I was young,” she shared. “I’ve realized that it’s always been about the small baby steps that you take over time to get you to this point.”

When it comes to fashion, there's no one like Carpenter who's reignited everyone's love for vintage, especially because she's worn plenty of looks much older than she is.
For the 2024 MTV Music Awards, she wore a sparkling strapless Bob Mackie gown previously worn by Madonna to the 1991 Oscars and then slipped into a 1990 Michael Kors bodycon dress for the afterparty. On the cover of TIME, she wore a archival Victoria's Secret red corset gown first by Naomi Campbell on the runway.

However, that doesn't Carpenter isn't a fan of going custom. On Short n' Sweet Tour, she opened up every one of her shows in bespoke Victoria's Secret bodysuits (she would often debut new colors, which became a fun guessing game for fans).
For the 2024 Met Gala, Carpenter, this time styled by Jason Bolden, she wore a custom Oscar de la Renta gown that had Cinderella vibes written all over it. The look featured a velvet bodice with a sweetheart neckline and a powder blue ruffled skirt.
After the Grammys, Carpenter will kick off the European leg of her tour on March 3 in Dublin with supporting artist Rachel Chinouriri.
The Grammys are broadcasting live from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on CBS or stream them live and on-demand on Paramount+.
