Rothy’s just released an updated version of its best-selling pointed-toe flats — and they’re even comfier

A few years ago, when Meghan Markle was really in the spotlight in her official position as the Duchess of Sussex, people used to love talking about her outfits. Actually, people loved to get her look too — often, anything she wore sold out. Some called it the “Markle Sparkle.” One thing she often wore was a pair of simple, black, pointed-toe flats. Of course, I couldn’t resist and scooped them up myself. The famous flats were Rothy’s The Point Flats, the brand’s best-seller. And after wearing them, I soon learned why everyone, including Markle, loved them.

If you’re not familiar with Rothy’s, the sustainable shoe brand is known for turning plastic water bottles into fabric and 3D knitting its shoes with it. Don’t worry; the shoes are incredibly durable and even machine washable. They’re also incredibly soft and comfortable.

However, whether you’ve been a steadfast fan of the brand pre-Markle days or now have an itch to try them, you should know that Rothy’s just upgraded its best-selling pointed-toe flats to make them even comfier.

Available in six colors.

According to the brand, The Point II (the new version of the shoe) has an improved fit, comfort and style. If they were already your favorite shoes, you’re going to love them even more now. The shoe has a new footbed to increase stability and support, something that’s often overlooked in ballet flats. The company also uses new knitting techniques that allow the shoe to stretch — really expand and contract — as you walk. The Point II also comes up slightly higher over the toes with less of a V-shape. See below if you want to compare:

Of course, being an owner of the original The Point flats, I had to try The Point II. Personally, I kind of like the deeper, low-cut V shape over the toes in the original version. However, The Point II is, without a doubt, even more comfortable. I love how they stretch and move with you, and the footbed is cloudlike. I’m sure I’ll buy a second pair of the flats in another color, and it will be The Point II over the originals for me.

You can get The Point II (the new design) on Rothy’s website for $155. Although, if you’re a steadfast OG, you can still get The Point flats for $149 in a wider range of colors.

Available in six colors.
