Robert Pattinson's fashion design just a hobby
Robert Pattinson's fashion design is "just a hobby".
The 'Twilight Saga' actor recently revealed that he has been designing clothing over the past few years and despite hinting at the possibility of a collection, WWD reports that it is just something he does for fun.
Instead Robert, who has fronted Dior's luxury fragrance collection since June 2013, is concentrating on his work with the brand as he was recently chosen as the first male celebrity to represent the French company's Hommes Ready-to-Wear collection for autumn/winter 2016.
Sidney Toledano, Dior's chief executive officer, said: "We approached Robert Pattinson for the Dior Homme autumn 2016 campaign. He was already the face of the Dior Homme Fragrance and he was thrilled to be also the face for fashion."
This is the first time a Hollywood star has been chosen to represent the brand's male collection, although Jennifer Lawrence, Natalie Portman and Rihanna have acted as the face for the womenswear line in the past.
Speaking previously about his clothing designs, Robert said: "I've started making clothes. For the last two years, I've been visiting producers and craftsmen. There's already quite a few pieces. I love doing it. My style is influenced by the cities I go to, sourcing fabrics and local skills. In Los Angeles it's really easy to work with denim and do workwear-inspired clothes. In England I look more toward wool and knitwear. What I do is pretty multifaceted, clothes for men and for women, things that I make with friends....But I'm not going into too much detail, I don't want to jinx anything."
