Robert Pattinson tries to kill Robert Pattinson in “Mickey 17 ”clip: 'You're such a little bitch' (exclusive)
The sci-fi comedy from Bong Joon Ho arrives in theaters March 7.
Robert Pattinson is his own worst enemy in an exclusive clip from Bong Joon Ho's upcoming sci-fi comedy Mickey 17.
Adapted from Ashton Edward's novel Mickey7, the upcoming feature (in theaters March 7) stars Pattinson as Mickey Barnes, a man on the run who haphazardly applies to become an "expendable" — an endlessly cloned crew member assigned to dangerous, often fatal tasks — aboard a space expedition to colonize the ice planet of Niflheim. Every time Mickey dies at work, a new body is regenerated with his memories intact.

But that cycle is interrupted when the 17th Mickey is miraculously found alive after being left for dead. When he returns to his ship, he comes face to face with his more aggressive replacement, Mickey 18, who decides he wants to be the only Mickey onboard. So, he lures his complacent double to the trash room and tries to toss him into the incinerator.
"Are you afraid to die?" Mickey 18 asks in the clip above.
"Kind of, yeah," the meeker Mickey admits.

"You've died plenty of times," 18 argues. "What are you scared of?"
Mickey 17, who speaks with an indiscernible American accent, attempts to persuade his clone to spare him. After all, should he die, 18 would take his place, meaning certain death would come for him next.
"I don't like you," the latest Mickey replies. "You're such a little bitch."
"But I'm you!" 17 reminds him.
Mark Ruffalo, Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, and Toni Collette round out the star-studded cast of the feature, the first from Bong since his 2019 Academy Award-winning capitalist satire Parasite. As for why the movie title differs from the source material, Bong previously clarified at 2024 CinemaCon that the new number reflects the number of times Mickey dies in his iteration. "I kill him 10 more times," quipped the filmmaker.

Robert Pattinson in 'Mickey 17'Pattinson also surprised audiences at the convention, making an unannounced appearance alongside his director. "Mickey 17 is someone who has the lowest expectations of his life, and yet the world keeps pushing those expectations to the point where he has a job that tortures him every day," Pattinson said. "And then 18 comes along, and he's got frontal lobe damage and no self-control, libido out of control. It's like playing an evil brother or twin."
Pattinson said he reveled in the opportunity to work with Bong, who he called "my hero." He recalled to attendees, "I got sent the script. I was told, 'You're gonna love the script, but the part is impossible.' That was very, very exciting to me. I thought it was the most unusual, bizarre, funny script."
